New York based Disco Fries had a huge hit on their hands with “The Light” featuring Niko The Kid. This week, they released a barrage of remixes from a panel of some big names across the production spectrum. This remix pack truly gives the listener a little bit of everything, including deep house work from MANIK, a big prog-house edit from Tommie Sunshine & Halfway House, and a tough bounce remix from Bounce Inc. This whole collection really goes to show how well the original tune lends itself across genres, and you can stream and pick them all up Beatport. Enjoy!
Yesterday, Arty released the remix package for his single, “Up All Night” featuring Angel Taylor, that includes renditions from Lenno, MANIK, and Slander. In celebration of the release, we’ve picked up Lenno’s offering that brings an electro-disco sound to the single that’s the first taste of Arty’s forthcoming debut album. Purchase the remix pack on iTunes or Beatport, and check out the official “Up All Night” music video after the jump.

After providing a √+ closing set on the GDD™ x Insomniac WIDE AWAKE Art Car last Friday night at Electric Daisy Carnival in New York, MANIK has teamed up with Culprit newcomer, Burnski for the YJG EP — a solid package from the LA-based imprint featuring remixes from Laura Jones and Maxxi Soundsystem (my personal fav), which the collaborators handpicked themselves for the May 27th release. Preview the set below.
Hard to believe that the multi-city festival known as Electric Daisy Carnival is about to commence this week in New York City, and GDD™ is proud to be teaming up with our friends at Insomniac to book out the Wide Awake Art Car stage this Friday, May 17th. We’ve taken a specific approach to curating the lineup for this event, bringing in a deeper/techier vibe to showcase up and coming acts from New York and beyond, including acts like M A N I K, Meech, Rynecologist, and our good friend Kromo, who has put together a mix that accurately portrays the sound you’ll hear from the Funktion One system this Friday. For those out on the west coast, Cielo is a perfectly sized club in New York’s meatpacking district that easily has the best sound in the city, and arguably the country. Well, last month Cielo officially turned the big one-oh and celebrated with 10 amazing events and twice as much talent. Find out all about it after the jump!
It’s time to set the mood for the upcoming months with the next installment of my bi-annual/seasonal mixtape series: aRod’s FallGaze 2012 Mix. The mixtape is chock full of lustful indie grooves, steamy disco + deep, sleazy house. Hot tracks from heavy hitters like Anna Lunoe, Disclosure and Van She along with some unreleased heaters from Benoit & Sergio, MANIK feat. Jeremy Glenn and Sure Thing…this mix should keep you warm and electrified from Fall all the way through Winter.

Chris James, one half of Coat of Arms, released his On & On EP on Berlin’s OFF Recordings yesterday with 2 originals and 2 well-commissioned remixes from New York resident, MANIK, and the Deep House aficionado from Leeds with one of my favorite artist names, Hot Since 82. The 4-track EP is perfect for peaktime, and the production from Chris James couldn’t be better. On & On already has support from the hottest of the hot — including Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Homework, and more. √++ Continue Reading
