Are fam at Main Course just cannot turn down the heat. Their co-captain BOT brings you ‘PLATES’ (out August 14), an 8-track house compilation from the some of the most underrated producers doing it today and the package is straight fire from top to bottom. We’re lucky enough to premiere the collab from Smalltown DJs (Fools Gold, Main Course), Christian Martin (Dirtybird) & Sabo (Sol Selectas) called ‘Sandia’. The result is a jackin ghetto tech monster – riding a rolling bassline with bells and whistles dancing all the way through. Here’s what the boys had to say about it:

“This collaboration was written in a Ford F150 on the Mountain Magic Tour as we drove through the hills & forests of interior BC. A “Car-llabo”. Mountain Magic is a snowboard & dj tour we do every winter in Western Canada. We were testing the tunes at each show & tweaking the sessions as we drove from town to town, so we really feel like they are an awesome representation of the times we had on MM 2015.”

Get ready for a weird one from Astronomar AiNSLEE.  This one is catered for 4am club nights, a remix of Wongo’s legendary tune, “Hollywood.” Do you eat cous cous out of Richard Gere’s tupperware?  Probably not, but you are listinging to one of the hottest tracks of the week.  The Main Course head honcho Astronomar picked a swell remix-mate to help tackle this tune, as this one is knocking the speakers off my desk.  Do yourself a favor and rinse this one at your next function.

“Who’s got complicated handshakes with Hanson? Wongo does. Who sits courtside eating schnitzel? Wongo again. Who has a magician on retainer? That’d be Wongo. And who eats couscous out of Richard Gere’s tupperware container? You got it. WONGO

Okay so maybe none of that is true, but it is all taken from the ridiculously fun new tune from Wongo ft. Nacho Pop; a single that pokes fun at the infamous city of angels in the most spectacular way.

After one listen to Hollywood ft. Nacho Pop, you’ll soon realise that this young talent doesn’t need to make up facts at all.

So let’s reset.

Who’s been asked to officially remix both Beyonce & Azealia Banks. Wongo has. Who’s released on labels like Dim Mak and Main Course. Wongo again. Who’s had their music supported by the likes of Peking Duk, What So Not, and Claude VonStroke? That’d be Wongo. And who is without a doubt one of Sweat It Out’s hottest up and comers? You got it. WONGO”

Do You Remember Underground House (Astronomar Blend)
Blaze – Do You Remember House (Solid Groove Remix) vs Seductive – Underground Sound

Astronomar & Hasse De Moor’s Horoscope Readings #4

Taurus:
Be openminded, trying new genres will help you expand your creativity flow.

Leo:
Focus on what YOU want, taking on advice from others is fine but remember that it’s important to stick with your fundamentals

Cancer:
Copying and stealing ideas from others might help you get some more followers, just make sure you’ll still be able to look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and be happy

Capricorn:
Remember, there is a certain peacefulness that comes with non-malicious ignorance. Try not to freak out when you see the same people headlining every festival and just have a good time with your friends.

Libra:
Bedroom producers, listen to your mom or neighbors when they tell you to turn down your volume because it helps for a peaceful environment and everybody will be happy

Virgo:
You might want to upload your new deep house track with a Toneden “follow to download” gate to increase your stats, but realize everyone is making deep house at the moment. Uploading some kuduro-trap hybrid edits will help you stand out in people’s feeds.

Aquarius:
Its all about the small details. If you are going to customize your “Buy Link Title’ button on your new bootleg on Soundcloud, be sure to use ALL CAPS so its legible.

Gemini:
Focus on the people that really mean something to you this week; if lots of people are texting you for guest list, make sure your true friends (not only industry folk) get priority this weekend

Leo:
Your socials were great last week! Feel free to spend a few hours today digging for memes and scheduling some posts on your Facebook page

Scorpio:
If you find yourself borrowing kicks from Wiwek tracks recently, you should maybe think about checking some YouTube tutorials and learning how to make your own kicks. They will add so much more personality to your new jungle terror banger!

Sagittarius:
If you are still having trouble getting backstage at the club, you need to realize this is because you don’t have a personal relationship with those who can give you that access. you need to bring something to the table, aside from an unquenchable thirst

Pisces:
Don’t forget to renew your Soundcloud account!

Astronomar’s Horoscope Readings #3

Gemini
Your social activity was crazy last week; keep up the good work!

Libra
Don’t forget that legends need to eat too. If you are going to bootleg a classic track, at least buy the original off Beatport.

Aquarius
You’ve accomplished a lot so far this year! Remind your followers with a #TBT post.

Aries
If your guest list gets messed up this coming weekend, don’t even trip. Just accept the GA wristband; your boys will sort you out once you’re in the club.

Leo
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach an old DJ how to reach younger fans with Internet humor. Don’t hesitate to share memes with your older DJ pals; they’ll thank you for it later!

Sagittarius
Switch it up this week. Take a Lyft to the club instead of an Uber.

Taurus
As we age, our tastes mature and you want your hospitality rider to reflect that. Jazz up your rider with a wine & cheese spread.

Capricorn
As always, communication is everything; even with your fans. You should take a moment to respond to all of your fan mail in your Soundcloud inbox… Wu-Tang is for the children! (Sooooooooo!)

Cancer
Presentation and accessibility go a long way. Make sure your Soundcloud metadata is on point.

Pieces
If you’re in a group chat with a bunch of DJs you don’t know very well, use some reserve when expressing your thoughts on your others; disaster is only a screenshot away.

Scorpio
Time to update your press kit!

Virgo
Keep in mind that every big promoter started out as an intern handing out fliers in front of nightclubs. Be polite and say “no thanks” to the kid trying to give you a flier for Lightning In a Bottle as you leave the club this week; he may be booking you for a show in a few years.

Armand Van Helden – Work Me! (Gadamit) (Astronomar copycat re-drum)
I love the original track so much, but wanted a beefier version for the club.. so I made an edit mimicking all the sequencing, but added some heavier drums.. enjoy!

Astronomar’s Horoscope Readings #1:

Scorpio:
You may feel like collaborating, but finishing solo projects might be the thing that will maintain a balance in your output

Capricorn:
Be grateful.
The sting from a hair being pulled out by a wristband is a small price to pay for a night of free partying.

Libra:
Stay humble; don’t become a dick just because Skrillex played your remix at Ultra main stage.

Leo:
Take a moment to realize what side of the fence you are on.
The DJ booth if for the DJ. If you aren’t DJing or the DJ’s manager you have no business in the booth.

Aries:
Take your chances; You will never know if he’s down to repost your new track if you don’t ask him.

Cancer:
Take note of the liberties you’ve earned while social climbing ; just because you know the promoter doesn’t mean you can ask for a +4 one hour before the club opens. Thats just rude and you know better. This isn’t your first rodeo.

Aquarius:
Patience is key, people will respond to your promos.

Virgo:
Maintaining a balance is really important for you this week.
It might be a good idea to have a glass of water between every double shot of Fireball.

Pisces:
If it is uniformity you seek, maybe cutting in line because you “know the DJ” isn’t a good look. Keeping things in order will bring a certain level of peace to your life.

Taurus:
Communication is vital for you this week.
Don’t be afraid to reach out to your favorite DJs for feedback on your new track.

Gemini:
Get to know people! You don’t want to be asking yourself; “Does he really want to bootleg my track, or does he just want my stems?” The answer should be obvious if you know the person asking.

Sagittarius:
Be driven but don’t force it; asking people at the club to follow you on Soundcloud is a no-no!

Saint and UNIIQU3 might have a fair bit of geographical distance between them, but the two musicians are good buddies, having worked together in the past already. They came together to drop this smasher 2 days ago on Main Course, and here’s what the had to say:

“I was headed to LA for a show so I hit Saint up wanting to get in the studio together to work on some music,” UNIIQU3 says of the track’s genesis over email, “We made this song in one sitting. We came up with the vocals because it reflects the lifestyle. Being lit at a function. It’s a fun track. It’s every party go-er’s anthem. Parties should be judge free zones. You can get so lit to the point where nobody can’t tell you shit, and if they did who gives a fuck?”

“We really wanted to create something that paid homage to old school club music and our influences, as well as add our own little modern tinge to it,” Saint adds, “It came together very naturally, and it def shows in the track’s fun and carefree party nature.”

When we teamed up with Main Course, iZotope, and ToneDen to announce a remix competition for our friend BOT’s track “Monky Man,” we weren’t expecting to receive over 120 submissions.

We’re excited to announce that we were able to pick three winners for the competition, with the grand prize winner receiving iZotope’s Ozone 6, an official release on Main Course’s “The Remixes Vol 05″ as promised, and a prize pack from the Main Course store.

The two runners up will be featured in the upcoming Main Course Holiday Pack, however all finalists will receive free upgrades ToneDen premium account for life.

Brisbane-based musician Low Parse! We were captivated by his energetic rendition of the track and have had it on repeat since our first listen.

Our two runners up include NiQW

And DOM DIAS.

The rest of the finalists can be heard in this set:

It was difficult picking through all the winners, and we couldn’t be more excited to have teamed up with ToneDen, iZotope, Main Course to offer such an awesome opportunity. Congratulations to all the winners and great job to all those who entered! We’ll have more remix competitions in the future so stay tuned to look out for those.

Almost a year ago, the Miami based outfit Sluggers crept onto the scene with a 4-track package on OWSLA. It was a blend of thumping, warehouse inspired techno that raised more than a few eyebrows. They followed that up with a release earlier this year on Fools Gold, which saw them shift gears slightly to glitchy synth work and wobbly bass growls, however, their latest efforts seem to have reverted back to their original approach. Their Voyager EP, which dropped yesterday and is available for free download courtesy of Main Course, sees the duo make considerable strides on honing their sound. The standout track is Particles, which is an absolute weapon that’s fully equipped with a bellowing siren and processed snares that are fit for an ENTER stage. Contact follows similar suit with tidy percussion work and slick vocal chops, and Horizon closes the EP out with dirtybird-esque breaks and bass design. This release is another reason why Main Course has quickly become one of the most influential labels in the game right now, and should also give Sluggers some proper momentum heading into 2015.
