Today in honor of thanksgiving, we are pleased to give you a special “Dirt” with all the fixings. We decided to give you more than tracks than usual featuring an even wider variety than you’re used to. So please sit back, relax, and enjoy your turkey day.
• Pat Lok – No Shame (Goldroom Remix) A bottle rinses up on the shore. It is filled with euphoria, sunshine, and a crescendo from outer space. Our good buddy Josh (Goldroom) keeps pumping out instant classics that will make your soul glow.
• Luther Vandross – I Wonder (SAH Re-Froth) SAH was foraging in a long forgotten place between space and time and stubbled upon a funky ball of tits. He had the funk, and had to keep the funk alive. It’s the spawn of a new time where light up dance floors glisten off a tan butt poached up on a lengthy pair of stems.
We finally made it through the week and our Halloween festivities are upon us. I have some great content for you to indulge in this morning that includes the RE:GENERATION tracks, an Escape From Wonderland preview & set times, AraabMuzik’s tour with EDM support, a 12th Planet interview, a trailer of a Soulwax video project, and a video of Afrojack playing classical music. Be entertained after the jump…
It’s been a busy summer for new kid on the block D.O.D. The Lancaster based DJ has played an extensive UK festival circuit and made multiple trips to Ibiza and Mallorca to play shows with Eddie Halliwell.
Following widespread support for his slew of recent bootlegs, this week Dan sent over a fresh mini-mix and his monstrous take on Laidback Luke‘s Break The House Down’, both of which are yours to download below:
If you have been festival bound this summer then chances are you’ve seen our boys Dada Life destroying stages with the high energy DJ sets they’re known for. They have been on a massive US tour for the past few months and haven’t stopped for anything (example: they literally played 4 different gigs in 3 cities in 24 hours). One of the best things about seeing the Dada live is the surprises they always have in their infamous bootlegs, the GUERILLA FART series. Now, if you’ve done your homework and have paid attention to the new tunes they’ve been dropping in their sets, you would notice some new versions they’ve beefed up and squeezed out (Sausage Fattener, anyone?) with that infamous Dada noise. Today, they’ve given us the exclusive release of their newest ‘Guerilla Fart #12,’ a festival bootleg of Laidback Luke & Steve Aoki’s ‘Turbulence’ smashed with the silly classic Rednex anthem ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe.’ This has been a huge party break track in their sets and went off huge at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Enjoy it now for your own sets or just for that party playlist!
*Download others in the GUERILLA FART series HERE!
VOTE FOR DADA! Don’t forget to Vote for DADA Life in this years DJ MAG TOP 100 – you know you love them more than anything. But don’t just take our word for it, listen to what the boys has to say themselves (hilarious).
I am so glad that I am no longer in college because the commencement of my summer is now completely dependent on the weather. With that said, it is a lovely 87ºF today in sunny, sweaty Los Angeles, which means it is time to put away the pea coats and bring on the boardies + bikinis. The month of April is now over, and in Las Vegas, pools have opened and day parties are in full swing. If you recall earlier this year, a few of us were lucky enough to head out to the brand new Marquee nightclub in the Cosmopolitan Hotel to do a review of the production and main resident Roger Sanchez. Well, after seeing what they had to offer in January, both aesthetically and musically, the only thing on our minds was splashing around in that pool to some big tunes this summer.
GDD™ will be giving away 2passes for all Marquee Dayclub and Nightclub ‘United’ events for THE ENTIRE WEEKEND (4 days!). What’s up my fellow dirty dancers, I hope your weekend is treating you as well as it is treating me. This has been a great week in music, whether your in Miami or not (and if you are, I want you to know I hate you a little bit). Anyways, I was very honored when FuzZ, Avedon and Zedex all decided to contribute to this weeks dirt! From complex IDM to French House, the three artists certainly differ in their sound, but not their unmistakable talent. With a wide range of songs to choose from on this weeks dirt, there is certainly something for all of you. So without further ado, myself, Fuzz, Avedon and Zedex present this week’s dirt after the jump!
*Check out the exclusive tracks from Fuzz, Zedex & St. Andrew!
The weekend’s finally here Dirty Dancers, and while we’ve spoiled you with two Essential Mixes already this week from M.A.N.D.Y. and Marco Carola, here’s something a little different. This morning, Laidback Luke was the guest on Pete Tong‘s legendary show, and the Dutch heavy-hitter has delivered an energetic two hours of big room vibes, with perhaps the most extensive track listing you’ll ever see (after the jump):
So as you can tell from the past few weeks, we’re beginning to transform The Dirt into a weekly artist guest post, with two fantastic entries from our pals PeaceTreaty and Dave Nada already in the books. This week, I was lucky enough to get in touch with our friend Olle from the ever-popular Swedish duo, DADA LIFE, and he sent over some great new choons as well as a couple classics that he and Stefan will always have a soft spot for. Here’s what the guys had to say about their selection…
“We serve you: a slab of red meat mixed with alcohol, bananas and white noise. Eat it up. And then shake it off in your living room.”
So enjoy, dirty dancers, and be on the lookout for some more great artist Dirts in the future. Most of the tracks below are 192kbps samples, so make sure you support these artists and buy the 320s on Beatport.

The absolutely stunning Kid Sister will be performing live tonight at CONTROL at the Avalon in Hollywood. This Windy City woman has been the voice to some great dance tracks in the past few years, including the big track by Mehdi and Riton in 2o10 titled ‘Do Do Do’ that was made into a monster remix by the legendary Laidback Luke. Supporting her will be SF’s Trevor Simpson, as well as local LA talent from Mr. White, Thee Mike B, and Steve Prior.
We will also be holding down the GDD™ House Party room tonight with our friends from Techno Color Kids as well as the lovely ladies of TrippensoXx, so come have a drink with us in the room directly to the right of the front of the stage.
