We’re pretty elated to have the lovely Gina Turner take over for this week’s GDD™ Guest Mix. International DJ, producer, and most recently labelhead of the newly founded TURNIT Records, Gina has always had a knack for finding a true balance between the deep and the big — a difficult feat for many DJs, however easy it may sound. Just this week, Gina and her husband Luke released their 6th original production titled “Diga Me” together under the Nouveau Yorican moniker, and in proper Gina/Luke style, the EP features a Deep Mix (for Gina) and a Main Mix (for Luke). She’s included both in the mix below, along with a myriad of top tunes from Claude VonStroke, Prince Club, Justin Martin & Eats Everything, as well as a topical conclusion featuring some love jams to get you Valentine’s Day-ready. Dig in. √+
Wax Motif, known to many as Waxy, has really built up and secured his new Big Room sound. A talented producer of many sub-genres of dance music, Waxy has released everything from GDD™ favorite “Go Deep” on Southern Fried Records to “Particle” on Laidback Luke‘s Mixmash Records. Lately it seems as if he’s found his niche in Electro suited for main stage, as evident in this firing new freebie released by the kind folks over at Fool’s Gold ClubHouse. “CTRL 66″ finds it’s home on the 2nd ClubHouse compilation, and it’s a biggie. To celebrate 22 years of his life, big room phenom DJ MAKJ has released today a Birthday Bootleg Pack (FREE for download) to his fans. The staggering bundle features massive creations by the likes of Dirty South, Dyro, Porter Robinson, Chuckie, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, Nicky Romero, R3hab, and Clockwork – blended with anthemic vocal edits and even a collaborative mix with Hardwell. Don’t hold back, grab the whole pack below and get your party started. BOOM!
Italian-born, Los Angeles resident, Congorock, has just released the remix pack for his smasher ‘Ivory’ on Ultra Music today, and it’s suited with an all-star cast of producers including Laidback Luke, The Bloody Beetroots, Mumbai Science, and NT89. Pretty darn serious. Each remix is great on its own as well. Laidback Luke’s new rendition is more of an edit, staying true to Rocco’s initial arrangement while deepening and darkening the original with some additional heavy bass. The Bloody Beetroots stay true to their grungy Electro roots, while Mumbai Science and NT89 bring on the Techno in a big way. Stream the whole EP and take a look at Congorock’s North American tour in June after the jump, and make sure to pick up the EP on Beatport pronto! √+Continue Reading

Tropicool’s Picks
• Pat Lok – No Shame (Goldroom Remix) A bottle rinses up on the shore. It is filled with euphoria, sunshine, and a crescendo from outer space. Our good buddy Josh (Goldroom) keeps pumping out instant classics that will make your soul glow.
• Luther Vandross – I Wonder (SAH Re-Froth) SAH was foraging in a long forgotten place between space and time and stubbled upon a funky ball of tits. He had the funk, and had to keep the funk alive. It’s the spawn of a new time where light up dance floors glisten off a tan butt poached up on a lengthy pair of stems.
• Christophe – The Force (Julio Bashmore Piano Mix) Beautiful piano rework of a rather amazing original. This instrumental journey will consist of copious amounts of cocaine with Stevie Wonder while floating on a cloud.
