Don Diablo & CID swap out their big-room sound for groovy vibes in their debut release on Steve Angello’s X label. Previously premiered on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Selection last week, “Got Me Thinkin’” takes on booty bass characteristics with a bumpin’ kick-driven bassline and percussive accents. Don Diablo & CID have taken things a bit deeper for a club-ready offering. Have a listen after the jump.

Over the past decade and beyond, the recent signee on Steve Angello’s underground-leaning X label, Trent Cantrelle, has been building a reputation not only as an artist with style and integrity, but also as an impresario with his popular parties such as his “Sounds Like” series. He follows up on his latest single, “Born” with Stacy Barthe, to bring us an exclusive Marquee Minimix featuring half an hour of house music handpicked with sophisticated taste. Listen/download the mix below.
Additionally, we were able to chat with Trent about releases on X, how he utilizes his parties artistically, his thoughts on losing the term “deep house,” and more. Check out the interview after the jump and if you’re in NY, see him live this Friday at Marquee NY.
Celebrating their eighth release today, the relatively new Main Course label has firmly established themselves as one of the brightest imprints we’ve seen this year. Label boss Neoteric teams up with Australian heavy hitter Wax Motif with a seriously pounding track in Das Machines. The package also comes with a bit shorter, slightly more ‘epic’ dub that’s just as mighty. Both are available for free download, however, Main Course wants to feed their artists as well, so you also have option to support them on Beatport & iTunes if you feel up for it. For those of you in Australia, fellow Main Course label boss Astronomar is gearing up to start his tour Down Under in just a few days. More info + music video after the jump.
When French label Institubes bit the dust in March of last year, Marble was birthed at the behest of Surkin, Bobmo, and Para One. A little over a year old now and the imprint has put out some of the most forward thinking releases in dance music. But perhaps the crown jewel is label boss Para One’s album ‘Passion’, which dropped today. Rumors of ‘album of the year’ are already swirling, just as they should be. It’s simply that good. The product is an amalgamation of all your favorite genres from early hip hop to techno, but it has timeless aspect to it that is something so foreign today where tracks have a shelf-life of a few weeks. You can purchase the album on iTunes.
