Lauded Parisian imprint, Kitsuné, are back today with the second edition of Kitsuné America, featuring a compilation of 15 tracks from electrifying talent from the United States including Theophilus London, Toro y Moi, Gigamesh, Jim-E Stack, and many more. Incorporating a wide range of talent, Kitsuné “pushes yet again the boundaries of reason by gathering as ever a diverse and quirky selection of tracks which stick to no rules but their own.” In addition to this release, the Kitsuné family will be touring America in May, kicking off this week at Output in New York with Fred Falke and a DJ set from Foals. Full tour info after the jump. Pick up the compilation in the Kitsuné webstore and have a listen to the compilation mini-mix from Jerry Bouthier below.
Kitsuné‘s friendly French duo, BeatauCue, have just released their most recent EP titled Lyrel this Monday, featuring three new originals that incorporate complex sounds while keeping a consistent, light-hearted danceability. Of the three new ones, I’d have to say that ‘Kickin Back’ is my personal favorite with it’s dirtybird-esque percussion, pitched-down vocal sample, and ongoing stabs, but you can decide for yourself as the guys have put together an excellent mix with all three tracks from the Lyrel EP as well as some goodies from Blawan, Yelle, Jim-E Stack, and more. EP is available on Kitsuné now and mix and tracklist are ready for download below.
After releasing a pair of remixes separately for stalwart French label, Kitsuné, in the past 2 years, young producers Crayon and Pyramid have joined forces for their first proper release, So Far Gone EP, released yesterday. Kitsuné is heralding the young guns as the “spearheads of a new generation of French producers,” which says a lot coming from the imprint to push forward some of the best French electronic music in the past decade. So Far Gone is a genuine collaborative release, with 4 original works and two individual remixes, providing for a fresh, 6-track EP pushing the new sound of French Nu Disco with a bit of Spatial/Sci-Fi influence, or in Pyramid’s words — “a great compromise between both universes.” Listen below and buy the EP on iTunes now. √+

BeatauCue‘s newest EP, Slow Down recently dropped on Kitsuné and has been making viral waves since. The EP features both the highly anticipated and catchy tune, Slow Down as well as remixes from The Japanese Popstars, Adrian Lux, GrandMarnier and DWNTWN. With each remix comes a different rendition of the original track, ranging from groovy to dark and catchy to energetic. At the moment I’m really digging The Japanese Popstars’ remix!
