Over the years, A Club Called Rhonda has played a pivotal role in shaping Los Angeles’ underground dance scene with its authentic approach to creating its free-spirited parties with passionately curated world-class music programming. House, techno, and disco luminaries behind the decks at “Rhonda” events come standard, and the return of RHONDAVOUS this Friday at Union in no exception. Even after its last outstanding RHONDAVOUS that featured headliners The Martinez Brothers, Guy Gerber, and Bonobo, the influential party brand steps up once again to bring our city by the sea a full night of multi-room debauchery with legends like Kerri Chandler and Felix Da Housecat, as well as Body High’s DJDS, two of Chicago’s finest Roy Davis Jr. and Mike Dunn, a personal favorite, Dauwd, and more. There are simply no other events in LA where you can find all of this talent under one roof for one night, so grab a ticket and get out on the dance floor this Friday.
If you need further convincing, Kerri Chandler’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix should do the trick:
• Kerri Chandler launches new label Kaoz Theory with compilation
• TomorrowWorld Releases Phase 1 Lineup, Adding Tiesto + Steve Angello / Single Day Tickets Now On Sale
• Kornél Kovács Preps EP for Numbers
More world-class emerging talent here from Kerri Chandler’s latest, MadTech Records. Kashii weaves bass house music that is at once detailed, lush, so deep and smooth but at the same time, grabs you with its one-foot-in-front-of-the-other pace, trading off between a pounding beat, striking leads and varied percussion. What’s really going to blow you away is once the title track, Rome, gets to the 3:50 mark.
Citizen is the first to be released on Kerri Chandler‘s latest, MadTech records and, once again, the deep house originator delivers with Citizen and this release. “In 1992 Kerri Chandler had a vision. A vision of deep, heartfelt, meaningful music.” This vision helped forge the soulful standards of Madhouse records, establishing some of deep house’s very foundations, which continue today in Kerri’s new label MadTech. As I introduced Citizen in The Dirt #73, his sound is decidedly “House Over Everything” and today we’ve got a sublime exclusive mix from him, as well as his entire EP and details on our Twitter interview with the label this Friday. Go Deep.

Ewald on Dirt duty this week and we’re very excited to be coming at you with everything from melodic techno to intricately designed glitch beats on Tre’s end and some truly deep, deep sensuality with jacking chicago house thrown in to keep you on your toes from Steven’s end.
