I first heard this song earlier this week on KCRW here in Los Angeles and was so blown away by it that I had to break out good ol’ Shazam to find it’s maker. In my search I found that it comes from Chicago-born, DJ Colette, and is part of her forthcoming LP due out on August 27th via her own label, Candy Talk Records. Colette cites influence from the likes of Kraftwerk, Romanthony, and Africa Bambaataa for this free single which sonically highlights the vocalist/producer’s vocal range and Oizo-esque synth work. Grab it for free below. √+

As I made my way to the office this morning listening to Jason Bentley‘s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” radio show on KCRW here in Los Angeles, I stopped at the usual Coffee Bean to fuel up, and as I got back in my car I heard the first sounds of the newest single from aeronautical duo, Flight Facilities, featuring gorgeous vocals from Brooklyn’s Christine Hoberg. “Clair De Lune” was released early this month on Glassnote Records, and an unbelievable accompanying music video directed by Dave Ma was just released on Tuesday. I highly recommend checking out the video and picking up the single here. √++
