“Make sure you make me look like a complete wanker.” were Eats Everything’s (aka Daniel Pearce) parting words to me. Mind you, this is at a cracking warehouse party around 5AM, where he’s still bouncing around and having a (ahem) JOLLY GOOD TIME. That’s just the type of person the house producer from Bristol is. Brimming with cheeky English humor and infectious personality, it took all of half a second upon meeting him to realize this was going to be the easiest interview ever.

You can read the interview after the jump, and be sure to check out his new EP on dirtybird, and tune into his radio show on IHeartRadio every Thursday at 9PM EST.

With the soon to be full length release from the Russian juggernaut Proxy on Dim Mak Records, the first remix ep for the single “Shut Up!” has recently surfaced. Of all that we’re entered, standing atop the heap come from bass master John Roman, Belgian phenom-duo Sound Of Stereo, and techno young guns VCO (my personal favorite). Both take what already was a massive track in its own and flip their motives into a wall of noise. Too much to fathom? Find out for yourself which one is your favorite (including proper giveaway remixes from Ming and Tenderlions)!

Next up in the series of ten free EPs from the dexterous Canadian we call John Roman is Revisions003, the third installment of Roman’s take on various old Rap & R&B tracks. Pop rap turns to deep house, crunk into UK garage, and further down the rabbit hole.

Revisions003 is, like the past two Revisions, a double-sided EP. “Let Me Go” is a two-step revision of Ashanti’s “Chapter II” and “Inhale” morphs Dead Prez’s “RBG: Revolutionary But Gangsta” into an eerie and vibrating dubstep track.

You can download Revisions003 for free by going to John Roman’s Facebook page, and stream all three of the Revisions EPs from his SoundCloud below.

Coming off  the massive release ‘Pari’ with Bart B More, the newly LA-settled Harvard Bass wastes no time in dropping a huge new EP teaser on us to start the weekend. The PLEX EP is forthcoming on Teenage Riot Records (headed by JFK of MSTRKRFT), and features the new original along with three incredibly eclectic versions provided by Ego Troopers, St. Mandrew and John Roman. Ringing true to his sound, the EP title track ‘Plex’ is a whirlwind of techno, driven by HB’s signature buzzing leads and stabbing kicks. The remixes, however, make it ‘something for everyone’ – from Ego Troopers’ dutch house, the chainsaw electro of St. Mandrew and the deeper bass and staggering tribal sounds of John Roman. Check it out below, and grab it on July 31st.

Volta Bureau, a new D.C.-based electronic group with Will Eastman, Outputmessage (Bernard Farley) and Micah Vellian (Miguel Lacsamana,) debut their first single, “Hope.” The song is an upbeat, piano-laden tune, set on a sparse, almost melancholic backdrop, while Outputmessage lends a subdued, soulful vocal performance. Conveying both the obsessive nature of Hope and what the future may bring, this bittersweet track is perfect for closing out the summer.

Formed in D.C. in 2010 and announced in May of this year, Volta Bureau’s hypnotic, cosmic take on house, techno and disco is already turning heads and gathering fans, including support from Danny Daze, Phantom’s Revenge, Cosmo Baker, and John Roman among others. With four original preview tracks and a remix for Ursula 1000 (featuring Fred Schneider of The B-52s) under their belt, Volta Bureau is well on their way to becoming one of D.C.’s premier electronic acts.

As summer chugs along and the dog days approach the temperature only continues to rise out here on the Best Coast. Expect a massive heat wave to hit this Thursday though as the mad Belgian scientists known as Mumbai Science descend upon the Mile High City to start their mini 2011 Summer Tour that will see them lighting up clubs from the Rockies to the Bay to the Border as they drop festival firestarters like ‘Ancova‘ & ‘Gold‘ in intimate venues like our very own Versus (August 4th!)

Having the chance to see this rising act, that now routinely plays for 1000s, in relatively small venues is an experience and opportunity you probably won’t have again as their ascent to stardom continues, so make sure you get yo’ tickets for one of these 7 gigs while you can! Along the way they’ll be getting support from longtime GDD™ backed Canadian John Roman, Aussie insane-asylum-escapees Bareback DJ’s, the lovely Brazzabelle, our very own ///BONES and various local talent in each city. More details including dates and ticketing links (and some tunes) after the jump! Oh and if you don’t remember our interview/mix with Mumbai, peep it over here!

Our good friend John Roman has just released his Sala EP today on Plant Music, and he is being kind enough to give away the b-side to you in full quality! The track, ‘War Drums,’ has already received support from many producers including Mr. Theo Keating, AKA Fake Blood, who very eloquently pointed out the obvious, stating, “You can’t not dance to this.” We’re also excited to be in the works of collaborating with PIE Artists for a tour for John this July and August where he’ll be supporting the amazing Belgian duo, Mumbai Science, with dates from SD to SF already booked up! Make sure to keep up on John’s Facebook and head on over to Beatport to pick up the full Sala EP release today!
