Last Friday we jumped on twitter to do a quick pre-show chat with John Dahlback! Easily regarded as on of the most prolific and diverse producers in the game, we got the low-down on his newest release, “Life (Diamonds in the Dark)” feat. Agnes on Big Beat Records, his North American tour and what we can expect for 2013 (it’s gonna be a big year!) Catch the action after the jump!

We’ve always been aware of the multifaceted talent of Swedish producer, John Dahlbäck, and today he’s cemented his versatility even further as he is giving away a full album under his side project, Demure, which features 13 original downtempo tracks made for easy listening. When juxtaposed to his throbbing club tracks, you almost wouldn’t believe that Dahlbäck was behind this, but his description explains it all — “This album is something I first started doing for my iPod. Something beautiful I could listen to on the plane, bus or wherever I was. I’m now sharing this with you. This is not EDM and not for the clubs. This is purely just for listening.” Amen to that Mr. Dahlbäck, Amen. Download the entire album for free below. √+ Continue Reading

The surreptitious act from London known as letthemusicplay has yet to reveal its true identity. We’ve been guessing at it for months now to no avail, but we can’t complain when they keep releasing quality House tracks to the masses. Most recently, the phantom act has had London-based producer, John Dahlback, take a whack at ‘Don’t Weigh Me Down’ — one of two of ltmp’s latest productions featuring vocals from UTRB. This remix from John is a must have. It lifts the relatively soft original to another level; readying it for the main stage. Get it below. √+ Continue Reading

Following his successful remix for iSquare’s massive Hey Sexy Lady EP, LA’s own Whiiite (formerly DJ Mr. White) brings two more monsters to the table. The Atari Teenage Riot remix has just been released on Dim Mak records, and recent collaboration with bass brilliant Flinch made the cut for Skylar Grey’s Invisible EP (alongside huge remixes by Kaskade, Dirty South, John Dahlback, and Fred Falke).  Check out the video preview and download links below, and grab our exclusive bootleg he made for Laidback Luke’s ‘Till Tonight.’

Ladies and Gentlemen, John Dahlback is back (no, not doback) and his new EP Winter is fire! Full of progressive house tunes that are guaranteed to give you that coveted warm feeling in your chest. This two song EP is beautifully constructed and both songs carry a groove that is nothing short of exceptional.

Don’t sleep on this one folks, this EP is the perfect treat to get you through the rest of your winter.

John Dahlback – Winter by GDD-Tre

My take on the tracks:
‘Winter’ – This tune builds you up and drops you into that dark beat undertone that is so rare these days.
‘Pour Te’ – This track is a gem. Dahlback’s synth lines are well produced, sustained and complex.
