The heat of summer is upon us and a plethora of new music has surfaced after the holiday weekend! Coming off a huge NIGHT BASS last Thursday night, we can’t help but hunger for bass heavy garage craze that’s sweeping DJ sets across the board. Thanks to the likes of Hannah Wants, AC Slater, and the dirtybird crew carrying the torch, we’ve discovered a gem of producers – such as Three Bar.
This EP has been rinsed around the globe as of late and its jacking energy can’t help but get things escalated quickly. I first heard ‘Movin’ when Shift K3Y opened with it @ NIGHT BASS, and the place went nuts. Listen to the full EP below, and be on the lookout for its release next week (July 14) on Huxley‘s label Saints & Sonnets.

UK House frontrunner, Huxley, did us all a favor this past week and premiered the lead single from his forthcoming EP, The Machine, due out this month on Aus Music. The track, “Oil Spill,” showcases a fresh combination of a deep, pumping bassline entangled in hauntingly vibey builds and stabbing samples. Driving and dark, “Oil Spill” is primed for late night play — I can hear this rippling off the walls of underground parties near and far already. Looking forward to hearing more from The Machine before its release on the 21st.
The versatile producer/DJ, MOTSA, from Vienna, Austria, has been delivering world-class original tracks and remixes since his first release just eleven months ago. Already supported by luminaries such as Sasha, Steve Lawler, and John Digweed, this gifted rising star is seeing success with his deep, soulful brand of bass heavy house that’s uniquely his own. MOTSA has now come through with this flawless mix that brings back the vibes from some of my favorite warehouse parties and the like. Feel free to download the mix for safe keeping, and expect a new remix from MOTSA coming out on the Vienna-based label, Jhruza Records, in mid-June.
GDD™ homie shae b. is back in action with a follow up to her first installment of her ‘stripped down‘ mixtape series, once again taking some of the best of the deep and arranging it very well. ‘stripped down pt. II’ features a sultry selection of Shae’s current musical interests including tunes from Danny Daze, Huxley, George Fitzgerald, and more. She’ll be coming along with us this month to play the GDD™ x Wide Awake Art Car at EDC Las Vegas, so if you’re out there, make sure to come by and check her out. Listen/download below and find the tracklist after the jump.
After seeing him poolside in Miami this past March, I just can’t seem to dislike anything from Huxley. His latest endeavor is a remix for his fellow countryman, Joel Compass, who provides perfect club vocals that Huxley puts his ever-grooving stamp on. The release is forthcoming on the UK’s Black Butter Records, and the original from Joel will be accompanied by a very cool video out soon. √+
Good morning! Today’s stories feature Treasure Island Festival (lineup pictured above), Live Nation x HARD, Jamie Jones, Madonna, and Huxley. Please read on after the jump.
