Our very own aRod returns with another seasonal mix – FallGaze 2013. Whether it’s warm indie/disco sounds to fit the feel of the Indian Summer or darker, sexier deep house/minimal sounds to go with the cooler, moody feel of Autumn, this mix will fit whatever vibe you’re feelin’. The track list includes originals from Nadia Ksaiba, Hot Natured, LUXRY & Daniel Avery plus remixes by Diamond Cut, Grafton Primary, GRUM, Jonas Rathsman, PIXELATED and many more. Extra special shout out goes to the artists/labels/management who helped out with a few exclusives (Kaytranada’s remix of “Perfect Form” by Cyril Hahn and Joe Goddard’s remix of “Everything You Never Had” by Breach).

Sweet, Sweet, disco nectar delivered strait to your door. This sun-kissed ultra funky mix mutates & cultivates the vibes of Tropicool‘s essence in the South Bay. Everything is in full bloom, the birds, bees, and the myrts feel it. The sand is warm and the micheladas are frosty. Poseidon is holding a conch shell to his ear, and the vibration station is starting to reverberate. Perv and swerve, because for this one, you’re meant to loose control while on cruise control.

“Reverse Skydiving” by Hot Natured (featuring deep house vixen Anabel Englund) has been burning up dance floors this festival & conference season. And, with a recent batch of top notch remixes (featured HERE last month), “Reverse Skydiving” shows no signs of slowing down. While the original & early remixes offered up a sultry, more noir-ish tone, the hot-off-the-press Benoit & Sergio remix offers up a much more playful feel. If there’s one version of “Reverse Skydiving” that can carry the tune right into Summer, it’s the Benoit & Sergio remix. This one’s got rooftop pool party written all over it.
In the spirit of the festival weekend in Indio and the debut of the Yuma tent, I thought it would be more than appropriate then to feature the incredible new remixes of Hot Natured‘s anthemic Reverse Skydiving” with the melodic siren known as Anabel Englund. The original track was a bomb across this year’s WMC, and with the help of Shadow Child, Robert James, and Deetron – it’s on course to be a staple in sets all summer long. The product is (3) great versions that cover the house spectrum immensely (Shadow Child for us takes the cake). Set the vibe for your weekend…

If you’re unfamiliar with Ali Love, then before diving further into this post, I’d suggest first listening to Benediction, last year’s unofficial feel-good anthem of the year. Ali switches over from the Hot Creations camp to the equally reputed Crosstown Rebels imprint for ‘Emperor’. The package includes a dub and two remixes, my favorite of which comes from Ellum front man Maceo Plex, who takes an otherwise good track and catapults it into the ‘timeless’ category. The release is slated for early March, just in time for many a WMC arsenal.
