Seems everyone is in the giving mood this month – our LA friend & familiar Hot Mouth has just given away Peacetreaty’s remix of the big room electro monster “Totally Worth It” on his soundcloud. The PT boys put a sinister twist on their version with piping stabs that slap both the electro and techno categories in the face. Tis the season?
Marinating in the unreleased oven for just enough time, the collaboration of GDD favorites Hot Mouth and Nom De Strip “Wear The Trousers” is finally ready and they’ve chosen us to serve it up just for you. If you had any idea what the fusion of these two incredible producers would sound like, this is gonna slap you in the face – which we’re happy to do to you for FREE. Grab this maniac below, and support two of the best dudes doing it. BOOM.
Another triple threat is hitting Avalon this Friday – as CONTROL welcomes Aussie giants the Stafford Brothers, the new LA-transplant Bass Kleph, and GDD favorite Hot Mouth to the decks. TUESDAY, MAY 22 – Dim Mak Studios legendary weekly party will play host to the Los Angeles debut of the Dutch trio Nobody Beats The Drum. The LA stop is one of the first dates on a massive 20-city US tour that rolls into town tomorrow night, featuring a full fledges live visual performance that is being deemed “a must-see set that is more than just a live show – its an experience”
Our pal, Hot Mouth, formerly known as Jon Pegnato of LA Riots, has been on quite a tear since he has dived full on back into his solo project that he started in 2008. After receiving loads of success alongside Daniel in LA Riots, he felt the need to come back to Hot Mouth — creating funky, techy, fun Electro House for the masses. On that note, Jon’s most recent studio time has been dedicated to remixing the latest release from Sebastien Drums on Stealth Records. He adds a bit of fun Electro flair to the Housey original, making it dancefloor-ready for any club night or house party.
Our good friend Mr. Pegnato, or Hot Mouth, just released his debut EP, Habits, on Rising Music last week, and we couldn’t be happier about the great response it’s received thus far. The pair of tracks, ‘Good Habits’ and ‘Bad Habits,’ are two big time Progressive House tracks perfectly fitted for a main stage smash, and with a name like Chris Lake fully supporting the EP on his own label, I’m sure we’ll be hearing Habits, good or bad, this upcoming summer season.
It wasn’t long ago when Jon Pegnato made up half of LA Riots, but now, he has embarked on a solo mission under the Hot Mouth moniker, bringing Electro and House to the masses. In the past couple of months, Hot Mouth has been busy. Besides signing with Liaison Artists and playing at the Palms in Vegas every week, he’s been working on collaborations with Felix Cartal, Nom De Strip, TJR, and more, as well as putting together a monthly mix series for our lucky ears here at GDD™. Now, it is time for Hot Mouth to make his VS debut at The Central in Santa Monica, and we couldn’t be more excited. Support on the night will come from SF’s Realboy, Gojira, and Check&Mate.
Jon Pegnato, known to the dance music community as Hot Mouth, is a class act. After a recent separation with LA Riots toward the end of 2011, Jon breathed life back into his solo project and pumped air into his blow-up doll — ready to take on 2012. After just signing a residency at Moon at the Palms in Vegas, joining up with George Karalexis and Faux Entertainment, and becoming a member of the Liaison Artists family only in the past month, I felt the urge to catch up with Jon and hear all about the plans for Hot Mouth.
Read on after the jump to hear about the Hot Mouth ethos, Jon’s perfect Coachella lineup, upcoming collaborations, and the first edition of Hot Mouth mixtapes exclusive to GDD™. Continue Reading
