The deeper half of Dave Spoon aka Shadow Child has been on a warpath since his emergence in 2012. With an already incredible roster of production done this year, Shadow Child takes his new remixes for a ride: to the jungle for A-Trak & Zinc‘s “Stingray” and to the deep end for Miguel Campbell‘s new “Rockin’ Beats.” Both out on October 15th – do NOT sleep on these.

On July 30th, the spectacular Mexican duo, Climbers, released their most recent EP, 2 Come Back— the second release put out on the Los Angeles label, Culprit, after debuting their first EP back in May. “2 Come Back” is a great Deep House track and a product of an obvious industriousness in the studio from Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal. The EP features the original as well as 2 remixes from fellow South American up and comers, Fur Coat, and Hot Creations legend, Miguel Campbell, providing for one hell of a release. Today, the guys have put together a promo mix to accompany 2 Come Back, and it’s just the right temperature to get you through this Wednesday. Don’t sleep on these guys, folks. √+
I caught myself casually driving around Miami last weekend. The sun was out. The weather was warm. Girls were still walking around in bikinis and anywhere else in the world, you’d suspect it was summer. I had just burned the new Hot Waves compilation and had nothing to do. A Sean Roman track started to play, and I paused. Ever since the first email I got from him a few years ago, I knew his sound would eventually hit. I got home from my drive and summoned him to do a mix for us, and of course he obliged. His mix sounds so current, full of super compressed basslines and extremely swung hi-hats that fit so well and grooves that just go on and on. It really is a wonderful mix to drive to. He has an EP coming out on Miguel Campbell‘s label Outcross, as well as an EP for Neim Records. Sean Roman is going to have a great 2012. Sean Roman – Gotta Dance Dirty Mix by seanroman

Earlier this year, I interviewed Miami DJ & producer Danny Daze about upcoming projects, ambitions, and warehouse raves in the late 90s. At the time, I had no idea that he was about to take the house world by storm with one of the most mystifying and anticipated records of the year. During WMC this March, Hot Creations front man Jamie Jones literally took Danny’s CD that had his unmastered track ‘Your Everything’ on it, and shortly after that the buzz around the tune hit fever-pitch with the likes of Seth Troxler rinsing the hell out of it at festivals all over the world. Now, Danny is signed to Hot Creations and the record is set to drop at the end of this month with a vinyl release (digital release a week later). Here’s a mix he made to celebrate the moment: clocking in at a little over an hour, Danny features a collection of deep house gems both new and old. Perfect time-waster for your early summer doldrums.
