ATL’s Heroes x Villains know Trap music. Not the kind of Trap your younger brother is making in his bedroom. It’s the kind of shit that Atlanta has born and bred for years. Put best by the Dirty South duo, “We’re only interested in making music you can fight or strip to.” Not a bad mantra whatsoever, and it seems to be doing them well as they’ve been commissioned by Major Lazer for an official remix of ‘Jah No Partial,’ due out on Diplo‘s Mad Decent next month. Big time roots n bass with this one.

Atlanta-based bass fiends, Heroes X Villains, have been at the forefront of the ever-growing Trap movement for a while now (Yes, long before you first heard that “Mercy” remix), and they’ve teamed up with LiveMixtapes.com and Trapaholics to create a documentary highlighting the evolution of the genre — from its early stages to its recent explosion as a fusion with electronic music. Along with the documentary, the ATL duo has put together an EP titled Run The Trap, which will see its release the same day as the doc on August 31st. It’s about to be a big year for Atlanta’s Daniel Disaster aka Heroes x Villains. After branding his own genre of ATL trapstep while at the same time garnering respect from the likes of Gucci, Waka, etc., Mad Decent front man Diplo commissioned HxV to put out an Atlanta EP and also host a mixtape for FKI.

Check out this video from the 5 yr Anniversary of Sloppy Seconds where Gucci and HxV performed live.
