We’ve been sitting on a bomb ready to burst… and now we can finally announce!
Halloween doesn’t end on Wednesday – We’ve teamed up with HARD to host the official HARD DAY OF THE DEAD PRE PARTY, featuring Hardfest maestro Destructo along with “Friends” of his (which means some BIG surprise guests) dropping by to hop on the decks.
Come out early, Destructo’s good friend and our very own Bones will be kicking things off for what is looking like one of the biggest VERSUS nights in the books. Don’t forget to wear your costume and RSVP for FREE ENTRY before 11!
*This event will reach capacity quickly – please RSVP and arrive very early to guarantee entry!
In what could be one of the fastest come-ups in 2012, Brooklyn’s Baauer has become globally recognized in a matter of months, with the mammoth Harlem Shake EP supported by every major mainstream DJ you could think of. Perfect time, perfect sound seems to be the #1 reason for success with this young producer — hopping aboard the rocket ship that is the Trap movement. On Saturday, November 3rd, Baauer will perform at HARD’s Day of the Dead here in Los Angeles, most likely to a massive early crowd. Unsurprisingly, the HARD folks quickly commissioned a mixtape from the young lad to promote his set, and it’s chock full of bass-heavy Trappers. Get turnt.
Another August and another HARD Summer in the books. As you may have read from our HARD Summer 2012 Review, we felt that the 2-day event a couple weeks back was one of HARD’s best events yet, and today they’ve unveiled the video recap of the stellar festival. Next up, Day Of The Dead.
To kick off the countdown until HARD Day Of The Dead, a new artist mixtape series has been launched – starting off with an incredible exclusive mix from the Italian powerhouse Crookers. This one is stacked with unreleased and forthcoming tracks from the duo, and we’ve even got a littler personal note from Phra + Bot themselves:
I awoke to a text from Mom at 5PM Friday from my long summer’s dirt nap and immediately proceeded downtown to LA Historic Park. What transpired from that point to the end of the afterparty at 5AM Sunday morning was one for the books. Just for you, we’ve all spent this week piecing together our collective experiences of HARD’s signature top-notch bookings and performances, with our favorite moments and surprises, all illustrated with beautiful images from the top photographers in the dance music game. We now proudly bring you the definitive GDD™ HARD Summer 2012 Review. If you went to HARD, read this. If you didn’t go to HARD (really?), read this. This was a weekend we’ll never forget, all in the comfort of our own backyard. Thanks again, Gary Richards.
HARD Summer at the LA State Historic Park in Downtown Los Angeles is right around the corner, and with 2 days, 4 stages and one of the biggest, most diverse lineups HARD has ever put together, it’s safe to say that this year’s festival may be the best HARD production (on land) to date.
‘Octopus,’ the first single from Bloc Party‘s upcoming album, Four, will be released tomorrow exclusively on iTunes, and the colorful music video for it has just been unveiled today. If ‘Octopus’ is a taste test for the entire new album, I’m going to venture a guess that Four will be another instant classic and a further ambassador to the crossover between Dance and Rock music.
