The Parisian duo known as ALESIA has broken through with their genre-defying style of dance music, and the world is has taken notice. With releases on OWSLA, Mad Decent, and more, ALESIA is also being recognized by well-respected tastemakers in the scene, while keeping their music fresh and forward-thinking. In their fantastic guest mix, which they’ve dubbed “I Call My Brother ‘Moon’ Cause He Shine Like One,” they offer a broad spectrum of styles and rhythms made cohesive with their harder, high energy vibe that will keep you on the edge of your seat – or off of it, for that matter. Enjoy the mix below and stay tuned for ALESIA‘s sophomore EP on OWSLA this Summer.

Deep breath. You’re almost there. Well, once you clear the rush hour traffic and take your dog to relieve himself, then you can practically taste that first cocktail of what’s sure to be an eventful weekend. I might be a bit of hypocrite for doing this as I generally don’t post a mishmash of different songs by different bros, but for some reason I’m feeling all kinds of sprightly today. *wanky ‘highly recommend’ sidebar to download all tracks*
• Treasure Fingers – What Am I Supposed to Do
Just nabbed this brand new discoball destroyer from Treasure Fingers over at THE FADER. I think Craze just said it best via twitter today “this tune will help you get laid”. Either that, or be on your way to a triple digit bar tab.
• Duck Sauce – The Motion
The aftermath of WMC left piles of ash and a mouthful of rumors swirling about Miami like the winds after a hurricane. However, many legitimate sources said Duck Sauce played the set of the entire conference at the Fools Gold Showcase. Two words: Barbara Streisand.
• Gucci Mane – Lemonade (White Lions Remix)
You’ve heard of Gucci Mane. You haven’t heard of White Lions. Remember Sean Roman? He’s in a little side-project with some fellow Canadians that form this housey/disco outfit. The best part of this song: they stripped the cheese and added a crispy topping of groove.
• Oliver Twizt – Another Step (Original Mix)
Another talented Dutch producer, however, you won’t find any bleepy car alarms in this Oliver Twizt tune. Loving the Aretha Franklin inspired minimal/house. Suited for late night no pants dance at your place after the disco.

Happy 500th post. Thought I’d celebrate by posting the new Neon Indian single(?), but then I realized that (1) you’ve probably heard it by now and (2) I didn’t really like it enough to post it. Instead, let’s listen to this ‘funky edit’ of “Deadbeat Summer” by professional hat-rotator Skeet Skeet.
Time for an awesome game of word association.
(Keep it going in the comments.)
