Ney York-based Gibbz is at it again with a groovy little number. “Love Again” is a soothing nu-disco draped piece featuring some really nice vocals. A bit of incendiary guitar pokes through near the end of the tune, offering a nice balance of sound. This one is off of the “Chardonnay” EP, which you can grab on iTunes here.
Electro-pop virtuoso Gibbz (real name Mike Gibney) got his start in the industry as a full time audio engineer. That path led him to work for a crew that went on to form the Lowtemp record label, founded by Gramatik. They “convinced [me] that it’s OK to drink copious amounts of alcohol and make everyone within a 30 ft radius uncomfortable,” he joked of the project’s genesis. “Out of [that] drunken, obnoxious, offensive mess of a man, GIBBZ was born.”
Earlier this summer Gibbz shared “I Found You,” an ode to summer romance and the first track off his upcoming Chardonnay EP. Today Gibbz reveals a second single “Love Again,” a strong follow up and a track with dense layers of synths that swirl together in a daze. So kick back, press play, and imagine you’re on a beach twirling away. “Love Again” is served best with a little (imaginary) sea salt in the air.
Gibbz’s Chardonnay EP will be out later this month on July 24th via Ghost Beach’s Crazy Heart Records.

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”
