As we’re inching closer to the business end of 2014, there’s a new label bubbling up out of Australia named October Records. The most recent release comes from label affiliate Frames who pairs up with Elizabeth Rose to provide a two-sided ‘Intentions/Anywhere‘ EP that shares a nice space somewhere between disco and house. Frames dims the lights on his ‘Late Night Dub’ of Intentions, which is a slow burner that morphs into a groovy acid number that’ll have bodies moving till last call. Check the track below and make sure you keep an eye out for these Australian kids as they’re gearing up for a spicy Summer.

Something must be in the water over in Australia. The Sweat It Out! boys are always nailing it with not only the originals but incredible remix packages to boot. We’re proud to bring you the exclusive Dom Dolla remix of Benson’s new jam “Hot Mess.” The original (as the Sweat promo dictates): “It’s wonky. It’s swampy. And yet somehow, kinda poppy. And Lex Famous kills it on vox.” Dom Dolla takes the pop driven original and creates a jackin bass heavy trip thats fit for the club. His remix is our fav by far and we’re lucky enough to be rolling out the premiere… fans of Gorgon City, Motez and Duke Dumont will be all over this one.
Funkmaster, Ghosts of Venice, has taken on Mystery Skulls‘ dark synth jam, “Paralyzed,” for a remix release on Warner Bros Records — transforming the shadowy, vocal-driven original into a sunlit spot flush with twangy guitar riffs and 80s-inspired synth work. The new look from Ghosts of Venice highlights his ability to see elements of a song that mesh well with his individual style (in this case it’s Mystery Skulls’ glossy vocals) while incorporating a new repertoire of components that launch “Paralyzed” into an entirely new realm of dance music.
Listen first below and pick up the remix package out on WBR tomorrow.
We’re seeing double vision on this Monday… last week we featured the NIGHT BASS native Petey Clicks‘ latest release on Party Like Us called “BAE”, and this week we kick things off with the exclusive premiere of his B-side to the EP “DO U”. Like his high energy sets, this tracks dances along a bassline and sends you into a spiral of jackin garage. The EP is already doing wonders with familiar faces, gaining heavy support and praise from the likes of Anna Lunoe, 12th Planet, Motez, The Bloody Beetroots, Herve, Sinden and many more. Listen below, and grab it tomorrow on Party Like Us!
We kick off your Tuesday with an exclusive premiere to a newer face of Tittwsorth. The DC to LA transplant takes things into deeper territory, casting a remix for Killa Theory’s single ‘Tatum’ on his own imprint T&A Records. This one sends you straight into after hours, perfect for your late nights and/or early mornings. Listen below and get lost in this one…
Last week, Treasure Fingers dropped a wobbly, club monster in the form of Honey Dip. While he reigned supreme for years at that top of the ‘nu-disco’ field, it appears he’s since disavowed his affiliation with the glazed genre and shifted efforts to making some manic house tracks, and we really couldn’t be any happier. Today, we’re premiering the Sluggers remix of said track. After gaining a bit of momentum with releases on OWSLA and Fools Gold, the Miami duo are quickly carving out a name for themselves. Enjoy their free download of Honey Dip below, and get hyped to hear more from these new kids on the block.
Happy hump day kids!
We have a huge exclusive for you today, as we’re proud to bring you the premiere of AC Slater‘s remix to Motez “Own Up” – coming soon on Aussie imprint Sweat It Out. The already stellar original boasted jackin piano house with melodic chords and soulful vocals – but AC took it the club and gave it the “NIGHT BASS” treatment. The product is a bass heavy roller that perfectly executes its beefy overhaul while still delivering the uplifting tones of the original. Don’t just take our word for it – the remix already has gained support from the likes of Tchami, Annie Mac and the Bixel Boys… listen below!
We’re less than a week away from WMC and our showcase with Sweat It Out Music! Put this on, take your lover, (or lovers), and go smile and dance in a field.” Listen below and get down with yo bad self!
In celebration of announcing our upcoming WMC showcase w/ Sweat It Out! Records, we bring you the exclusive premiere of their own Indian Summer‘s new single “Aged Care” featuring Benjamin Joseph.
