Been hyped on ZHU for ages.  Been offered up my co-sign.  Breakthrough Artist of 2014.  The latest from him just solidifies his mastery of the elusive and fickle form of a deep groove in pop music’s sonic landscape.

As Jonah put it on NEST HQ:

“Once again, ZHU’s flawless vocals steal the show in the new single, but the House/Garage crossover groove lying underneath is also nothing short of spectacular.  It’s artists like ZHU that are following just steps behind the Disclosure lads, manufacturing productions that live as perfectly on the dance floor as they do on mainstream radio.”

Debut EP Presale here, available 4/20 (lol sick).

Here’s how to absolutely nail it:  take everyone’s favorite Outkast songs, cover them (beautifully) over a a beat that sounds more Disclosure than Disclosure themselves, throw in plenty of pitch play, blast out, set blogs aflame.

Z, you hereby have my co-sign.  Whoever you are.

Is it Disclosure trolling us by putting out something so Disclosurey?  Does this mean that they will be performing with not only Mary J. Blige but also with Outkast at Coachella?  In The Pyramid?  Do I know who Z is?

2013 marks the 10-year anniversary of Toolroom Records — the UK-based imprint founded by the legendary Mark Knight. To celebrate the seminal benchmark in the label’s history, Toolroom has gone back through the years and handpicked 100 tracks from the back catalogue for a historical compilation of massive proportions.

Additionally, Toolroom has selected a number of all-star singles to re-release along with remixes, including this 2006 smash from Dave Spoon titled “At Night.” Spoon, now known to most “new” dance fans as Shadow Child, has called upon fellow Brit T.Williams to help him remix the Electro/House/Tech crossover hit, adding in a fresh bassline and some Garage percussion.

Find a ton of great content on Toolroom Ten here, and have a listen to the new remix below.

This mix is fly.  Fans of Disclosure, Breach, and all things that pop to bassy, sexy house music should dig this mix by the duo consisting of Foamo and RackNRuin.  Right after you catch our very own BONES on the HARD Stage, stay put and see Gorgon City perform on the same stage right after at HARD Summer 2013 on Sunday, August 4.

PURCHASE THE ALBUM ON iTUNES

It comes as little surprise that Kastle, a man who’s such an avid and exuberant pusher for music (his own, and his label’s), has just released his first full length album only a short three years after starting this musical project. With a mind-blowing flow of releases, remixes, mixtapes, and shows already in his repertoire, Kastle’s been one of the most useful and gracious advocates of the forward-thinking musical movement in the US. As many talented and unique artists as there are in the world, Kastle is one of very few who I can introduce to absolutely any one of my friends and have them fall hands-down in love with his music without failure.
