Our LA local boy Wilks has been making a name for himself riding the G-House wave, a rising sound championed by parisian duo Amine Edge & Dance. His last release “G Thang” raked in a huge response on his soundcloud and he’s followed it up with another solid free download for the thug in all of us. Fans of Amine Edge, Vanilla Ace and Sharam Jey will be all over this one, grab it below!
As the summer heats up the sounds are cooling down, with mellowed out versions of your favorite tunes popping up left and right, it’s pretty clear that the pool party season is upon us! Franne, a budding young producer from Germany, has hopped on NoNoNo’s classic, “Pumpin’ Blood,” and scaled it down to a vocal oriented piano house anthem to keep the blood chilled whilst coursing through your veins. Hop on his FB for a free download and throw the dude a follow on SoundCloud to stay tuned into to his productions.
The Parisian duo Amine Edge & Dance have been introducing us to an arsenal of rising talent via their widely supported imprint CUFF. Their newest FREE release is no substitution, featuring the north London based Tainted Souls (whom already have made a name for themselves on Sleazy G and LouLou Records). Grab it below and pay close attention to CUFF this year…

Dark sounds have been brewing down in San Diego… the mysterious duo known as Dimeuhduzen have broken into the scene with influences from the infamous Bromance and Motorik labels, producing hard pounding techno fit for the warehouse. Their latest Nu Heirs EP just landed a release on the French based Police Records, featuring 3 tracks with a sinister appeal. The noise hasn’t gone unheard, already gaining early support from the likes of Brodinski, Canblaster, Sound Of Stereo, Designer Drugs, and more. Take my word for it – if you like Gesaffelstein, Boys Noize or Proxy, then you’ll be ALL OVER these tracks.

Genesis, one of the all time greatest British Rock bands, receives a face lift from GUM (of Tame Impala fame) to announce his debut LP, “Delorean Highway,” a collection of 10 songs described as “paranoid pop songs, mostly about falling in love and all of the things that he thinks are going to kill him.” Set to be released on the new imprint created by Tame Impala’s management, Spinning Top Records, an independent label under Warner Australia’s independent divison. With a massive 13 min psychedelic rock journey from Mink Mussel Creek as their first release, it’s safe to say this new label is sprouting legs. Stay tuned as the journey continues, free download here.
In today’s frenetic war zone of DJs and producers and ghost-producers and managers and publicists and every other person clinging on to the
EDM machine, it’s pretty damn difficult to get noticed. For Astronomar, his brash and aggressive club music demands the respect it deserves. Back in a big, bad way is his 4 track Mutant Club EP, which dropped today on the Main Course imprint. Aside from releasing tracks on esteemed outfits like BNR & OWSLA, he’s been running the Main Course label with good pals Neoteric and Bot, who is featured on ‘Drama’ (my favorite from the package). Devoid of cheese, you’ll find drums thicker than redwoods and sound designs more manic than mental wards. And for the next month, all tracks are available for free download, so get to clicking.

This seasonal transition into a welcomed period of rejuvenation thus provides the leitmotif of Sprung Selections Vol. 2, and encourages the curious game of catching feelings.

Friend of GDD (actually who am I kidding, friend of near every music person ever to do anything in Los Angeles) Mike Brillstein, known to many as Thee Mike B, has been making house music. And it’s f**king good. Over the past year we’ve seen him foray into a new moniker as Brillstein, collabing with Play It Down boss and house champion Jesse Rose on tracks like “Shuffle The Paper” and “Good Wife”. I was hearing big dudes like Loco Dice slamming Shuffle The Paper in sets for months. As Brillstein, Mike B is a heavy-hitter, keeping elements in his tracks that punch you right in the stomach and leave a mark. This year he announced his debut LP on Jesse’s label, which gets released at the end of the month. For now, he’s dropped off a new original for free download. Should be a clear indicator of the smashing direction that the LP will head in – the first track of which just premiered over on Pulse Radio.
Get the download above, and be sure to nab your copy of Brillstein’s Back To Bed LP, which comes out on Play It Down on April 29.
