Grant Kwiecinski aka GRiZ has been on a musical warpath this year and has surprised fans by dropping a nine track mixtape, Chasing The Golden Hour PT. 1. The first of the multi-part series is being released on the artist’s own imprint, All Good Records. By drawing inspiration from the golden era of hip hop, the mixtape sees him retracing his roots – from early, J. Dilla and Hi-Tek influenced beats to progressive jazz fusion – vibes are high all the way through!

“I wanted to recreate the carefree good vibes you feel when it’s just about sunset on the perfect summer evening and everything is the most beautiful shimmering tint of gold. Chasing The Golden Hour is that magical moment, it is the cool breeze against your back, it is sweet summer swagger in music form. Enjoy the chilled out vibes :)” Griz

The productions of Craig Williams go a long way in my MP3 library – his remixes are known for taking dance pop anthems and morphing them into techno laced dance floor stompers. A hefty trait to be known for, to say the least. His latest is no exception taking Duke Dumont‘s 2015 fanfare “The Giver” and reducing it into it’s simplest four on the floor counterpart. Ripe for anytime past midnight, it’s sure to bring the ruckus to any club or festival setting.

It seems that Wax Motif is on to something massive. His first single “Krush Groove” on his forthcoming TRUE JOY EP for Mad Decent hit the interwebz hard and is being supported by pretty much everybody – then today just dropped a VIP dub + instrumental of his next single “Your Eyes ft. Totem” ahead of it’s vocal driven release. The vibe on this one is way more hip hop spirited yet anthemic in strength, ringing true to the Mad Decent mantra. Grab the freebies below, and be on the lookout for the rest of the TRUE JOY EP dropping August 14th!

Someone or something has been making a disturbance in the neighborhood… a STRANGER. In only the past few months, this mysterious producer has criminalized dance music as we know it, churning out severely low end driven house with elements of garage, bassline, breaks, fidget and ghetto tech. We finally caught the culprit, and sentenced him to the GDD™ Guest Mix, which he has delivered to us in the form of an hour packed with new originals and remixes and from himself and friends alike. Are fam at Main Course just cannot turn down the heat. Their co-captain BOT brings you ‘PLATES’ (out August 14), an 8-track house compilation from the some of the most underrated producers doing it today and the package is straight fire from top to bottom. We’re lucky enough to premiere the collab from Smalltown DJs (Fools Gold, Main Course), Christian Martin (Dirtybird) & Sabo (Sol Selectas) called ‘Sandia’. The result is a jackin ghetto tech monster – riding a rolling bassline with bells and whistles dancing all the way through. Here’s what the boys had to say about it:

“This collaboration was written in a Ford F150 on the Mountain Magic Tour as we drove through the hills & forests of interior BC. A “Car-llabo”. Mountain Magic is a snowboard & dj tour we do every winter in Western Canada. We were testing the tunes at each show & tweaking the sessions as we drove from town to town, so we really feel like they are an awesome representation of the times we had on MM 2015.”

Life’s a bitch and then you die. The haunting lyrics of Nas on his recent single have been echoed through the years of hip-hop. Dallas newcomer Zander has given us the reason to live up the motto in his low-end driven house flip, with a deep wobble, stabbing bassline and a hint of breaks for good measure. Fans of Jack Beats, Amine Edge & Dance and Tchami will be all over this one. Grab it below for FREE DOWNLOAD!

Aptly described as “Motopony with a little stank on it,” Lonely Boy delivers a disco delight ripe for the summer season. Featuring Lonely Boy’s stimulating synths and one funked out bassline, he makes sure to leave room for the Motopony vocals to walk it out. Reminiscent of Modest Mouse on a spicy one, add this to your sunny day playlist and let the good times roll.

The Aussie to LA transplant Wax Motif has been on a warpath, leading the front lines of G-house in the states, fusing the spirit of hip hop into bass heavy house and garage. His latest project saw him teaming up with young gun Baytek in a flip of Rihanna’s recent hit “Bitch Better Have My Money”. Amidst the countless remixes that have surfaced for the single, Waxy finds a away to stand out from the rest and give it a nasty low end it deserved for the club. Back from holiday weekend with a bang – our Miami brethren Damaged Goods just flipped the recent Spinnin’ Deep chart topper “Blinded” by Lucas & Steve, taking the chord driven hit into future house overdrive. Stripped of the vocal and focusing more on the melody and punch, the original radio friendly version is now perfect for the club. Listen below and grab it for FREE DOWNLOAD!

Doesn’t get more LA than a fluid and bouncy remix of a Rihanna single from a yet-to-be-known producer. So here we are, ready to be blasted from car stereos with the windows down. Little known about Young Prince as of yet, other than he’s purposefully anonymous and residing somewhere in the depths of Los Angeles county. Rihanna’s single is booming – a stomping, in-your-face announcement rather fitting as a lead single for a new album, especially our darling bold RiRi. Somehow, Young Prince strips things to a shinier place, literally flooding the production with dripping synths. Normally something so esoteric isn’t necessarily assertive, yet Young Prince sonically delivers something that commands your ears and the room, stripping none of the booming energy from the original whilst shifting the mood and aesthetic to an entirely different place.

Intrigued to see what’s next from this mystery producer, I imagine it’s going to be good if you kick off with an official Rihanna remix….
