If you haven’t heard already, The Knocks & Fred Falke joined forces for a new track, “Geronimo,” that was released earlier this month. With those artists working together, it’s only natural for the tune to have a catchy, nu-disco flavor. However, we have the pleasure of premiering Aylen‘s remix, which is suited to those more fond of a harder side of dance music, electro-house. It’s a loud, party-ready track that has no shortage of grinding synths and glitchy sounds. Listen + download (available for 24 hrs. only!) the track below and check out the brand new video for the original “Geronimo” after the jump.
I’m not sure what’s been up with me lately, but I can’t seem to get enough French house. Thanks to Ben Thomas, aka L’Étranger, my needs have been satisfied for the time being. This morning, he put out this awesome rework of an Alan Braxe & Fred Falke collaboration, “Most Wanted.” With the addition of more electro-type sounds and his “French touch,” L’Étranger did a great job in putting a different feel to the track. Check it out and download after the jump.
Feel-good summer music is without a doubt some of my favorite music to listen to and The Knocks nailed it with their latest song, “Learn To Fly,” that they’re giving away for free on their Facebook. This tune will surely tide you over until our premiere of a Fred Falke x The Knocks collaboration coming next week, so listen above (in artwork), go like their Facebook, and download!
Theophilus London has recruited an all star lineup for his “Timez Are Weird These Nights” remix album with Scream, Crookers, Brodinski, Disco Pusher and many more on board. The remix album also features the prolific and always enticing Mr. Fred Falke. Nothing is more pleasing to the ears than seven glorious minutes of a Fred Falke bassline.
In just a few days, thousands of vagabond partiers will flock onto the shores of Miami eager to experience the glorious week long extravaganza that we call WMC. In between yacht parties and after-hours sets, Gotta Dance Dirty, along with Overthrow, Embrace, and Karma Loop, will be presenting Pyramid Club Miami at Mamushka’s on March 22, featuring Tensnake, Fred Falke, Treasure Fingers + more. It’s been a few years since I fell in love with Tensnake’s tropical anthem ‘Coma Cat‘, and as this will be his first trip to Miami, I’m extremely excited to see him perform. The entire line-up:

For those of you not making the trek out to SnowBall in Colorado this weekend, we highly suggest heading over to the V-Lounge in Santa Monica for a night of Nu Disco, Tropical vibes with the legendary Fred Falke and Poolside, with supporting sets from Orange County’s Kedd Cook and the untamable Warchild. Our good friends from Collaborative Media are putting this one on, so it’s bound to be a good one as always.
After a crazy weekend that was brought to an abrupt stop, we are back to reality on this first day of the week. The news for today consists of the WMC 2012 dates, a Boys Noize Q & A, an introduction of Hyundai’s REMIX LAB Series, Fred Falke’s debut album, and uncertainty with Coachella 2012. Start your week of strong with some GDD™ Morning Update knowledge and check the full stories after the jump!
For those of you that were lucky enough to catch Fred Falke‘s set at Pacific Festival in Orange County this year, you’d probably say that he was an easy top 3 performance of the entire day. Unfortunately, I was at the merch booth slanging out tank tops and t-shirts, so I only got to catch about 10 minutes of his auditory delight, but that longing will be fulfilled this Friday as the Berlin-born, France-based producer comes to the Avalon alongside fellow French Touch master, Lifelike, and a live performance from Anoraak. Leave your fist-pumping homies at home for this one.
