Shuttle is the newest project of Nathan Donmoyer, best known as the drummer of electro-pop group Passion Pit. He’s recently collaborated with Isom Innis of Foster the People for the new single, “Halo,” and from the sound of this teaser, he’s taken some influence from his experiences with the Massachusetts-based band and added a bit of dance music flare. Preview “Halo” below and keep an eye out for its official release September 3rd on Ninja Tune Records! Continue Reading

It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Mumbai Science to the decks of VS in Santa Monica this Thursday. We’re expecting this one to be big, so make sure to RSVP!

With the weekend creeping up on us and the sun shining bright here in beautiful Los Angeles, I found it perfectly fitting to post another dreamy, sun-kissed mixtape from GDD™ fav, Edwin Van Cleef. The man has yet to disappoint, and this May Mix proves no different as he includes some great tracks from the likes of Plastic Plates, SebastiAn, Peter & The Magician, and more. Put on those shades and head on outside this weekend, kiddos, and while you’re at it, throw this baby on…
• Body Language – Social Studies (Plastic Plates Remix)
SebastiAn – Yes
SebastiAn – Arabest
• Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks (Gigamesh Remix) √+
Mighty Mouse – From The Pavement To The Stars (Edwin van Cleef Remix)
Basement Jaxx – Flylife (Dan Castro Remix)
Vanish – Don’t Be Afraid (Dublin Aunts Remix)
Acid Soul Project – Making Money
Mitzi – India (Joakim Remix)
• Metronomy – The Look (Moonlight Matters Remix)
Slice & Soda – Year Of The Dragon (Villa Remix)
Peter & The Magician – Twist
Yuksek – On A Train (Gucci Vump Remix)
Polarsets – Sunshine Eyes
Tropicool, radicool, sun-kissed nation vibration. Coconuts and mindtai’s. Heads in the clouds and your feet in the water. Babes in bikini’s, cool pool parties, and crackin’ freshies at the beach with your toes in the sand. Which brings me to my next point. Why don’t you sexy ladies out there wear the 80’s retro thong bikinis arching high above your thighs, that truely accentuate those dirty dancin’ stems of yours? Bring it back, please, we beg you.
Here’s the tenth installment of Waves ≠ Raves, and might actually be my favorite compilation of the bunch. So be rad, don’t tell dad, and do the jungle boogie.
“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”
Waves ≠ Raves Vol. 10 after the Jump
In 2010, Foster The People unleashed “Pumped Up Kicks”, one of the catchiest + MASSIVE pop tunes in recent memory and in 2011 are proving to be no one-hit wonders with the release of their new self-titled EP. With its glossy hooks, androgynous lyrics + handclaps galore, “Helena Beat” is another stunning piece of palpitating, irresistible pop.
