Major Lazer has become a movement. Amidst touring the world with their massive collective and spreading the noise, Mad Decent chief Diplo and his new partners in crime Jillionaire and Walshy Fire teamed up this year with UK bass aficionado Flux Pavilion to create “Jah Not Partial,” putting the Rasta spirit into a heavy dub driven anthem. The music video for the track premiered today, focusing on the life & times of the group at festivals and road trips far and wide. Oh, Mister Marshall…
Since July,Intel and MTV Iggyhave been producing free events around the country under the guise of “The Music Experiment.” The project has hosted the likes of Santigold, Of Monsters and Men, and The Jezabels, but on November 13th, #MusicExperiment is diving deep into the dance music scene here in Los Angeles to host bass boss, Flux Pavilion, at a currently undisclosed location.
Social media plays a huge factor in #MusicExperiment, so you must use the hashtag to find out where to pick up your free tickets to the event and the location of the show. Head over to the #MusicExperiment site to find full instructions on where to find your tickets now!
After an epic saga of a weekend @ Coachella Music Festival, the GDD™ crew return from the desert with a battered brain of new music to better prepare for the massive summer to come. This week, our very own Bones and Toks have answered the call to serving you with a dirty bundle of tunes fit for the festival-goer in all of us. Whether from artists that played Coachella, or just some of the key sounds that embody the stages, this team has it down for you and each specific playlist. Happy Monday! I have news featuring the excellent lineup of Creamfields 2012, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, Gigamesh, Hideout 2012, Armin van Buuren, & DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill). Please read on after the jump!
I first saw this remix posted earlier today, but I was unable to give it a listen, so I sat there anxiously waiting to hear the collaboration of two of the best in the dubstep realm, Nero & Flux Pavilion. I finally was able to hear this melodic, yet heavy tune, and it certainly lived up to the high expectations I’ve come to associate with such high-caliber producers. Have a listen for yourself and give us your thoughts on it after the jump.
I hope you all had an excellent Thanksgiving and I hope your food comas have subsided after a night’s rest. Today’s news spans from trance to dubstep with Above & Beyond, Jesse Rose, Depeche Mode, 12th Planet, and Flux Pavilion. As always, catch the full GDD™ Morning Update after the jump.
One of the UK’s finest, Flux Pavilion, brings some serious heat with his new Drumstep remix of Example‘s ‘Midnight Run.’ Before listening, I was a bit hesitant to press play as I was in a relaxed mood after a long day, and I didn’t want anything too intense. I decided to take the plunge and it turns out that Example’s vocals matched with Flux Pavilion’s production is something I definitely want need to hear more of. The drop won’t be what you’re expecting, so don’t hesitate to listen and you’ll be rewarded. Keep an eye out for the official release on Ministry of Sound.
Our buddy, Dillon Francis, has come quite a long way since when we first met him. He’s one of the top Moombahton producers out there now, and working directly for the Mad Decent boss man, Diplo, doesn’t hurt either. Any time we get a chance for Dillon to play our events in LA we jump on it, as it’s always a lot more fun to get rowdy with the lads, which is why we’ve teamed up with Juscollege.com and DANCEiSM to bring Mr. Francis to the Key Club in Hollywood this Thursday!
