For this week’s Artist Collab series for The Dirt, I’m very excited to be teaming up with one of the baddest DJs on the planet, Anna Lunoe. Along with her sorcery on the decks, Anna is a phenomenal producer, she has serious remix game, her apparel line rocks, she kills it all across social media & pretty much dominates at life.
Check out Anna’s picks of some of her hottest tunes of the moment and what she has to say about them. Together we bring you a 10-pack of ultra cool, hot new jams, a handful of which you can grab for FREE!
GDD has decided to put a new spin on our weekly Dirts, and instead of pairing up internally we’re branching out and pairing up with artists. So every Thursday, hop on board with us and some of our favorite artists – where you’ll get your weekly dose of 100% free tracks from us and a cool little selection of music that gives you a bit of insight into the minds of the DJs and producers you know and love.
I’ve partnered up with none other than one of my best friends, probably one of the funniest and coolest dudes in the business, the #10 gentleman on my Sexiest DJs list: Max from Prince Club. He’s the DJ version of Tom Hardy and smokes more than a chimney, and because of that we present his top 5 tracks to smoke to. Click the jump to see some of my favorite free tracks of the moment, and check out Max’s favorite stoner jams as well. Enjoy!
Yolanda Be Cool‘s massive rebranding effort from their 2010 hit single, “We No Speak Americano,” has proved to be very fruitful. Signing to Dim Mak Records for the U.S. release of their new album turned a lot of heads, and their mix for the label’s pool party in Miami stirred up a lot of passion. With many ID’s on their way according to some facebook activity, a new song and video titled, “A Baru In New York,” has come into being.

It’s rather alarming how much being a musician amps up a gentleman’s (or lady’s) “sexiness” level, but there’s no denying it’s true. Musicians have been beacons of much affection for as long as music has existed, perhaps (this is my psych major talking here) because of our innate emotional connection to music, or maybe by some grace of god the handsome gene is connected to the music affinity gene. Who knows. Although I’m more particular to band dudes (drummers, specifically) there’s quite a few devilishly handsome gentlemen amongst the DJ/Producer world that are worthy of the ample female attention they get.
So here we are, as a preliminary chart to GDD’s “Best of 2012″…. Three Wise’s and my list of the “sexiest” artists amongst the electronic sphere. Not only are the below gentlemen considerably easy on the eyes, but their personalities, charisma, wit, and duh, MUSIC all add to culminate what I’d like to call “sexy”. Keep doing your thing, boys. Check out the list all the way to #1 after the jump (my votes in blue, Three Wise’s in red) and let us know where your most handsome DJs rank! -Laura. Continue Reading

The Dirt #97: KMOC + aRod comin’ at ya. Grab the free twelve pack of jams + enjoy.
My favorite label at the moment, Future Classic, will be releasing its debut compilation on August 13th which will feature a grip of exclusive originals and remixes that haven’t been available anywhere including Danny Daze‘s “Zone,” DJ T‘s remix of “Changed” by Mario & Vidis, Flume‘s “Tropical Sun,” and many many more. This video shows the Future Classic DJs testing out these tunes to crowds around the world, and as you’d expect the response is just what they were looking for.
Fixtapes are Mixtapes geared specifically for your ride. This tape is about constant motion and positive vibes to keep your legs cranking while your heart is pumping. It’s a new series by the Sole Bicycle guys which will feature a new artist every month resulting in quite an awesome compilation. I, Tropicool, was lucky enough to kick things off with Volume One. Enjoi!
