As the Indio dust is finally settling from two weeks of wind, heat and wild spirits across the polo fields, we look back at our favorite moments of this years Coachella Music Festival. With a staggering artist lineup each day making it almost impossible to catch every set we wanted to see, the most memorable performances are all that stand alone from such an incredible experience in the desert. Here are the “best of the fest” we have to give royalty to… Continue Reading
After electronic music broke out into one of its most pivotal years in 2012, expectations for what’s next have been through the roof. With the start of the new year, all eyes were on HARD‘s festival cruise aka Holy Ship. The staggering lineup that Gary Richards (Destructo) procured took many of the biggest names from across the board and set them out into the middle of the Atlantic ocean to kick off 2013. But why was it different than any other festival? Sure, it went from cruise ship to island hopping and back again, boasting an all-star roster – but how was that gonna set the tone for the year?
Never underestimate the power of friendship. Cheesy, I know, but for the sake of dance music and live performances, it’s what’s gonna save this year from being another circuit of the same festivals with the same stage lineups and the same sets…

I awoke to a text from Mom at 5PM Friday from my long summer’s dirt nap and immediately proceeded downtown to LA Historic Park. What transpired from that point to the end of the afterparty at 5AM Sunday morning was one for the books. Just for you, we’ve all spent this week piecing together our collective experiences of HARD’s signature top-notch bookings and performances, with our favorite moments and surprises, all illustrated with beautiful images from the top photographers in the dance music game. We now proudly bring you the definitive GDD™ HARD Summer 2012 Review. If you went to HARD, read this. If you didn’t go to HARD (really?), read this. This was a weekend we’ll never forget, all in the comfort of our own backyard. Thanks again, Gary Richards.
Amidst the chilling winds and the sporadic downpours, Insomniac Event’s Beyond Wonderland was a huge success ringing true to the dedication of the festival goers who withstood the unfortunate weather conditions to see some of the best in dance music all night long. Our very own Bones, Toks, and Korbin ventured out to the NOS Events Center in San Bernadino to capture their ‘best of the fest.’ Below they have given each their top performance of Beyond Wonderland, along with our exclusive photos of the acts themselves.

This weekend we were at the legendary Sonar Festival in one of our favorite European cities, Barcelona. Founded 18 years ago, Sonar was the first ever daytime contemporary music festival in a European city and despite its renowned status, it’s avoided slipping into mainstream territory by continuing to showcase fresh talent.
Taking place across three days and two nights, the first thing that struck us was Sonar’s ability to coordinate such a multitude of electronic acts, hosted at two very different settings without overstepping the vibe at each spot. The 12 til 9 daytime event is a super chilled affair taking place at Barcelona’s beautiful cultural centre, just a stones throw from the Ramblas. By contrast, the 10pm til 7am night event was a rager at Fira Gran Via, a convention centre on the outskirts west of the city. While we’d love to cover every highlight from the weekend, there were just too many great moments, so instead we’ll bring you a varied shortlist of what made us tick:
