Back in June, I was lucky enough to catch the Nobody Beats The Drum live show when they stopped in New York at Webster Hall, Governors Ball and the afterparty at the Brooklyn Bowl. To say I was impressed with their performance is definitely putting it lightly. Their set up is a fully integrated audio and visual experience. Rogier directs the visual elements that project on the screens that span the entire stage perfectly in time with Jori and Sjam’s mixing. The images range from bright and beautiful to dark and ominous, seamlessly enhancing their track selection. The result is captivating and incredibly refreshing and original. One of the tracks that not only made the crowd go wild but also caught my attention was “Natural Thing,” which they recently released as an EP (with some pretty decent remixes from The Subs, Rimer London, and Fellow) and also as a music video that is definitely worth checking out.
