Aside from the 303 big room remix from Calvin Harris, the mysterious Aussie duo known as The Only have answered the call to taking Fat Boy Slim & Riva Starr’s summer anthem “Eat Sleep Rave Repeat” and sending it through the festival meat grinder. The original’s funny vocal sample helps carry the tune along, but these boys put the emphasis back on the drop. Fans of Bingo Players, Felguk and Clockwork will be all over this one… grab the exclusive download below!
*Be on the look out for The Only’s new single “Back To The Program out Aug 16th, and their forthcoming remix for What So Not on Skrillex’s imprint OWSLA!
Brazilian duo, Felguk, have always been known for their hard-pounding, earth-shaking Electro, but today the guys have put out something dissimilar to their customary intense style. Accompanied by catchy vocals from Sirreal, ‘Move It Right’ incorporates an auto-tuner, horns, and wonky guitar riffs to produce an original that could be right out of the 70s. As this track was picked up by EA Games for FIFA Street, the guys have been kind enough to give the track away for free along with a copy of FIFA Street for XBOX for you awesome GDD™ readers. Download the track and read on after the jump to enter to win the game!
It’s hard to believe it’s only been 3 years in the making of CONTROL Fridays @ The Avalon – rapidly growing in reputation and popularity to become one of the world’s greatest weekly events in dance music. To celebrate their 3 year anniversary this Friday, CONTROL is teaming up with clubbin bible Mixmag to throw one of the best parties LA will see this year. The massive lineup is no joke, with Brazilian electro stars Felguk, the big room phenom Tommy Trash, and turn table wizard TJR. It’s hard to believe that CONTROL is already celebrating its second birthday this Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood. Over the past 100 or so weeks, the CONTROL family has brought talent ranging from Rusko to Wolfgang Gartner, Dada Life to Claude VonStroke, and this week we’re showing that our 3rd year will be as strong as ever with a packed lineup featuring Felguk, Bingo Players, a live performance by our homies PeaceTreaty, Mr. White, and more! Here’s to another stellar year at CONTROL!
For this event, we will have only 200 spots on our guestlist so please RSVP 21+ names (no pluses) to email@example.com to be on our discounted list for the night, and it will be first come first serve. This week, pricing will be $30 before 1030pm. If you’d like to secure a ticket, you can purchase presales HERE, but make sure to hurry because they will sell out soon! You must receive a confirmation email back from me to confirm that you are on the guestlist, but guestlist confirmation does not guarantee entry.
If I was obligated to do a one-word-festival-preview this would just say “INSANITY,” but fortunately for you I get to give you the real dirty dirt on what’s going down at the NOS Events Center this Saturday. Compliments of the crew over at Insomniac, this weekend’s 16th annual Nocturnal Festival is not to be missed.Even though it’s a bit off the beaten path out in San Bernardino, I for one totally love the set-up and location, and apparently so do about 40,000 others every September. The stages are set up in massive hangars, spacious tents, and something zuuper special and unique for the massive trance arena trucked in all the way from NYC.
On the grounds there is plenty of space to roam and explore and a wicked water feature that GDD™ does not condone swimming in! In addition to the top of the line production that has always been synonymous with Insomniac events, this year delivers top of the line talent across the entire spectrum of electronic music. From Steve Angello to Ferry Corsten, from JFK to ATB, to a CAN’T MISS set by Noisia, all the way to a Caspa, Benga, Skream trifecta taking place in the Sunken Garden, each stage is rife with opportunities for you to get your dirty little jig on. To get you psyched for the festival I got five essential performances for you to witness, and five crackin’ tunes to jack you up on the ride to the Events Center.
Gotta give it up for Olle and Stefan. Does anyone know how to get the party started harder than these guys? You always know what you’re gonna get when you do the Dada … HOT FIRE!
The Masters of the Breaks. Their set at Coachella two years ago was out of control. Or maybe I was out of control? Whatever. Don’t miss it.
As mentioned above this trio is a must-see. Everyone who is anyone in DnB will tell you these guys are simply an elite, top notch talent. If you’re really not in to DnB, then allow them to be your introduction. If you haven’t heard their essential mix, then go hear it.
4. Steve Angello
Seen him both by himself, and as 1/3 of the Swedish House Supergang at EDC, and I think it’s safe to say he always brings the house down. Feel good tunes are guaranteed.
5. Ferry Corsten
Ferry’s set at Together As One three years ago will forever hold a special place in my heart. The man just knows how to play trance with some real energy to it. Throw in a stage/arena nearly 60ft tall with a 100,000 sq ft dancefloor + the chance to hear ‘Beautiful‘ on a proper system = something you don’t want to miss.
The Sunken Garden stage potentially going Plastician > Skream > Benga > Caspa back to back to back to back? Bassheads, make sure you take a five minute water break at least once.
If you guys have been keeping up on the sexy sounds of Scottish mood-maker, GRUM, for the past couple months, you would know about his highly acclaimed album, Heartbeats, that was released on Ultra and d:vision Records earlier this summer. Each track on the album is a winner, and after doing our show with GRUM along with The Twelves in the Spring, I vowed to never miss a set of his in LA. Alongside the Scot will be the Brazilian electro duo, Felguk, as well as a bangin’ set from DJ Neoteric.
Please RSVP names to JONAH@GOTTADANCEDIRTY.COM to be on our discount ticket list for the evening. Pricing will be as follows:
-21+: $10 before 12am
-18+: $15 before 12am
Also, make sure to come stop by and say hi to us in the GDD room. We’re to the right of the main stage conveniently located next to the smoking patio. Luxurious.
Two remixes (you may not have heard) of one of the best songs on Heartbeats.
