While Miami is most notorious for the madness that occurs every March for WMC and Ultra Music Festival, thousands of art and music lovers from across the world converge in the beginning of December for Art Basel. We kicked things off in style last night at our weekly Slap & Tickle party at the beloved Electric Pickle with LA’s Rick Rude, and are gearing up for a massive evening tomorrow night at one of Miami’s newest venues, The Garage. The rising UK duo Bondax will be preforming an exclusive Art Basel set alongside Body High label boss Samo Sound Boy. The best part about this event is that its FREE, as long as you head over to the Slap & Tickle page and send us  your names before 6pm tomorrow. To get you in the mood, check out the latest Slap & Tickle promo mix.

This past WMC, we had Yuksek slated to play at two of our parties. We were devastated to learn that the Frenchman had to cancel all his WMC dates to illness, so we’re elated to announce that he will finally be performing on the red carpet at Bardot this Thursday in Miami. Supporting Yuksek will be UK bliss-pop sensation Chad Valley, who is set to release his debut album ‘Young Hunger’ on October 30th. Pre-sale tickets for the event are $12. About a month ago, I was driving home from lunch and received a call from the music director at the Fontainebleau in Miami beach. He told me that he just confirmed Deadmau5 on the first day of 2012, and that I would be opening. As you can expect, I almost crashed my car. Now, less than a week to go before the gargantuan show and I’m frothing to see the event unfold. I’ll be warming up the party alongside  Stephan Luke and Damaged Goods. It kicks off at 7pm poolside and pumps until 11pm, at which point everyone will head over to the after-party inside Arkadia. Tickets for the show are available here.

Miami based creative collective, OVERTHROW, has been not so silently plotting to take on the West Coast with the debut of their Sunday night party called LIL DEATH, which is this Sunday in Downtown LA. After the wicked success of the infamous Black Sunday party in Miami, evil masterminds Alexis Mincolla and Caleb Gauge have scripted the party along the fascination with Le Petite Morte. OVERTHROW mistress Tamara Sky is set to play this weekend, and she has curated the first installment of the LIL DEATH mix series. Perhaps I should have mentioned this earlier, but the party is FREE if you RSVP, and you’re also rewarded with complimentary Jose Cuervo Platino, PBR, and Prometheus Springs (while supplies last).
