Los Angeles-based folk/electronic band, DWNTWN, have just put out their latest single, ‘See My Eyes,’ on the most recent Kitsuné America compilation, and today, the duo from Caen, France known as BeatauCue have added their own spin on the original. It’s a beautiful take on DWNTWN’s production — reminiscent of something that Kaskade might play to thousands of happy fans just before sunset. If you’re in LA, DWNTWN will be playing live on June 25th at Bardot in Hollywood, so head on over to their Facebook for ticket information as well as the latest on all of their releases including their next EP which will feature four new original tracks.
BeatauCue‘s newest EP, Slow Down recently dropped on Kitsuné and has been making viral waves since. The EP features both the highly anticipated and catchy tune, Slow Down as well as remixes from The Japanese Popstars, Adrian Lux, GrandMarnier and DWNTWN. With each remix comes a different rendition of the original track, ranging from groovy to dark and catchy to energetic. At the moment I’m really digging The Japanese Popstars’ remix!
The French duo BeatauCue have been turning heads since their humble formation in a college dorm room. Consistently pumping out impressive originals and remixes, the two young producers have shown no signs of slowing down. With nothing but a bright future ahead of them, it seems like BeatauCue are destined for huge things, which is why I was so excited when they agreed to a quick interview for GDD!
LA resident, Skeet Skeet, has been producing the coed duo known as DWNTWN for months now, and last week the team released a mixtape under the DWNTWN moniker titled, Midnight Ride, where Skeet Skeet put together a nice little remix of ‘Transition’ to accompany it. Not confining itself to one genre, Skeet Skeet says that the new rendition “fits nicely in a Moombahton set early on” and he’s even been “squeezing it into [his] deeper sets as well.” It’s a feel good jam, so grab it below and head over to DWNTWN’s Facebook to download the aforementioned mixtape full of great new tunes.
Trevor McFedries, aka DJ Skeet Skeet, moved from Iowa to Los Angeles and quickly built up a reputation by playing alongside then up and comers Royal Rumble, LA Riots, and Young Americans (now Classixx). He’s continuously put out high profile remixes of high profile tracks, earning him spots at both Lollapalooza and Coachella recently, while producing for bands all along the way. His most recent remix of ‘That Your Girl’ is below, which is bright, cool fire at about 1:15 in, one of my favorite tracks of the moment. Snag that download below along with a couple from the band he’s currently producing, DWNTWN.
