The past few months have been an absolute flurry of activity for the young Canadian remix prodigy that is Cyril Hahn. With undeniably infectious takes on tracks from female crooners like Destiny’s Child and Mariah Carey, his SoundCloud has hit massive play counts. It’s slowed R&B with pop sensibility… a danceable, oxytocin-laced fusion of groovy and catchy with touches of garage and UK vibes. Pretty much what every person with reasonable taste in music wants to put on their sex playlist. Who could be mad at that?

After his multitude of successes with his releases and mixes, he hit Europe for tour, and it’s finally that time for him to hit the states. Naturally it wouldn’t be a trip to the US without a stop in LA, which I am more than thrilled about. Having officially joined the AM Only roster, a whole North American tour in the works, and multitudes of Coachella friends in town, Cyril Hahn has much to be excited about for his show tonight at the Belasco. I can’t tell you who the special guests (YES, MORE THAN ONE!) are, but I can tell you it’s being presented by Goldenvoice (cough cough)… and you have two clues in the previous sentence. Oh yeah, I can also tell you that apart from Cyril Hahn guaranteed to provide some sexy jams this evening, the special guests are FUCKING AWESOME and you basically are a big dummy if you miss out.

Purchase tickets below, oh and if you’re on the fence about it (shame on you), go ahead and listen to the GDD Guest Mix he did to get you in the mood.

In liu of his upcoming release on his own label Party Like Us, AC Slater dropped the trailer to “Party Animals” today, successfully encompassing the party animal raucousness that he and the Slater gang have capitalized upon. The trailer bounces around a few of AC’s local DTLA jaunts, with jarred glimpses of his party crew, quite a few cameos from friends and neighbors if you can catch them.

AC Slater’s 4 track EP comes out next week on November 6th, featuring Nick Thayer, the lovely duo Nina Sky, and frequent collaborator Dell Harris respectively on three of the tracks. Be sure to grab it next week!

I of course exclusively drive my imaginary Tesla Model S, but I like what Hyundai is up to.  I haven’t had a chance to personally see the Veloster in action but more and more, we see major companies like Hyundai, Scion and Red Bull actively participating in the electronic music scene; curating, hosting, creating more than just their own product.  From our perch in Los Angeles, this basically means a steady stream of free parties.  Free parties are sick.

We’d like to thank everyone who came out for the last couple weeks of our VERSUS party downtown @ ICON. Unfortunately, the management was not on the same musically-oriented page as us, and we weren’t happy! We want this weekly party to be the easiest way for you guys to dance dirty on a Thursday night, and that includes location, price, and fun level (duh).

So this week, we bring you a special VERSUS party – underground disco edition @ the (downtown) Belasco Theater Basement. To keep the summer groovin vibes and the dirty disco atmosphere, we bring you a one-off event in one of the coolest locations in Los Angeles. The now LA-based U-TERN will showcase his disc jockey skills and be supported by our good buddies Guns In The Sun, along with our GDD resident chill wave Tropicool and dF’s No Shirt/No Shoes Bixel Boys. Man oh man, are we in for it again.
