If you’ve frequented any Miami or Las Vegas mega-club in the last few years, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Joe Maz playing, or at least heard other DJs playing his tunes. As a member of Discotech, he’s been making DJ’s lives easier for years by remixing and editing about every artist under the sun. He just sent over an acidy rendition of Dirty Vegas’ smash hit ‘Days Go By’ that should go directly to your peak-time club crate.

BONES SUMMER MIX 2010

Always a tad late, but that makes it more exciting right!? Haha, this summer has got me hooked on a lot of different styles, and this mix should hopefully boast that. Most of these are in my dj set as of now, as well as some unreleased heaters you dirty dancers are gonna go tits bananas for. I also get into my ‘tropical-midget’ house hobbying towards the end of the mix, with some great grooves and jungle jams as well. So wherever you are this summer, break that sweat to this over-an-hour mix (my longest one to date), and get ready to be attacked by bass in yo face and then brought into the raver village for smooth sailing… for the most part.

DISCOTECH – DEVESTATING EP

If you remember back to a time on le hypemachine before the popular charts were invaded by shitty kid cudi mashups, then you might remember a trio called DiscoTech that would regularly be seen at the top with smashing remixes. After a hiatus, they’ve returned with a club-ready EP titled ‘Devestating’, which they’ve sent over fo’ free, so you poor ass college kids can go save your money for a tallboy of PBR for after class. They also sent along the acapella to your future girlfriend’s favorite track ‘IMMIA’, so all you budding producers out there without the tight connects can get to working, because I’ll be posting the top three remixes right here. The Pirates Are Back

Things have been relatively quiet for Boston duo Pirate Stereo since their acclaimed remix of Jace Everett’s ‘Bad Things’ last summer. But now that one half of the duo has graduated from Berklee College of Music and has moved back to Miami, expect a whole lot more from these young upstarts. They’ll be releasing a 4-track EP sometime around WMC, as well as playing a few shows with me (and pedro!) Because they’re such groovy dudes, they sent me two of their newest remixes to start off the new year, which include a remix from Danny Daze’s (Discotech) side-project called Senor Stereo, and a sexy rework of Simian Mobile Disco. On top of that, they put together an exclusive mix just for you guys.
