Our main man in Vancouver, Pat Lok, takes a swing at the fantastic tune “You & Me” by 2013 MVP contenders Disclosure and knocks it out of the park. Here’s what Mr. Pat Lok had to say about it:
“So I’ve had these vocals stuck in my head since hearing Baauer play his version at Sasquatch (it was massive). Unfortunately trap doesn’t get into my DJ sets unless I’m really out of my tree, so I took a shot at doing a version for all the house/disco/techno jockeys.”
A bootleg for the club with early DJ support from Bufi, Cosmo Baker, Lenno, The Magician, Moullinex + Viceroy.
This booty is FIRE…and it’s FREE!

A few days ago young UK producer Tourist uploaded a new track for download on his Soundcloud, and it is e m o t i o n a l. Almost painfully simple, with cords that sink right into the deepest parts of your heart and mind, barely-there vocals, and a very UK-sounding piano melody that tugs at you to dance, ‘Stay’ is beautiful and sombre, a true testament to this combo that Tourist has made a name for himself in.
The track is a preview to Tourist’s upcoming EP on Method Records, out sometime before the end of the year. With the backing from Disclosure (who he is playing with at their curated Warehouse Project on Nov 22), and big guns TMWRK and AM Only representing him, it seems as though Tourist is geared to bring his charismatic yet melancholic sound to prominent places in the near future. I gotta say, I’m excited to see it happen.
