35,000 people were on hand this past Saturday to attend the first ever Hard Presents: Day Of the Dead festival in downtown Los Angeles. The lineup was one of the most eclectic we have seen of any Hard Event and we could not wait to see how it turned out.

Dillon Francis AKA the man who now looks like Flux Pavilion chimed in on our Quickfire Q&A just in time for his set tonight on the Moombahton Massive stage from 11:50-12:50AM just before bossman Diplo closes out the stage. It’s been a busy week for Dillon as he’s just released his latest single, “Bootleg Fireworks (Burning Up),” on Calvin Harris‘ Fly Eye Records this Tuesday, and he’s also gearing up for the second leg of his Wet & Reckless tour which kicks back off this Saturday in New England. Check out Dillon’s responses and full tour info below! Continue Reading

Our GDD familiar Astronomar has given us the green light to release his newly mastered “HEY I C U PERCUL8-10″ – a clubbed up homage Cajmere’s infamous track “Percolator” that already has support from Diplo and A-Trak. Grab this FREE giveaway, and let the bubble bootys bounce!

With support from the likes of Tiesto, Diplo, A-Trak, Chuckie, Bart B More, Dillon Francis, Style of Eye and more it’s hard to believe Wax Motif isn’t a house-hold name yet. Over the past year he has been refining his style with several top-notch remixes and his most recent work Rebecca & Fiona – Giliap (Wax Motif remix) leaves nothing to be desired. The track is a slice of electro-house heaven reminiscent of an ‘80s electro-pop film soundtrack. Combine that with the artful use of Swedish duo Rebecca & Fiona’s sultry vocals and you’ve got a track that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Big love for this Aussie.
Major Lazer is at the forefront of dance music genre fusion. Diplo‘s innovative style has taken influence from Dancehall, Hip Hop, and Reggae, and injected the contemporary sounds of Electro and Moombahton — creating a distinct flavor unmatched by any of his peers. Following up the 2009 debut album, Guns Don’t Kill People — Lazers Do, Switch-less Major Lazer will be releasing the sophomore album Free The Universe on November 6th via Downtown Records. The album will feature massive collaborations including Tyga, Wyclef Jean, and Flux Pavillion, as well as this first single, “Get Free,” with Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors. This music video directed by SoMe truly illuminates the inspiration Diplo finds for his music in Jamaica — giving credit to the culture and people that influence the creed of Major Lazer.
