This week we welcome our wild friends from the WAPA (We Are Party Animals) collective to take the reigns at our notorious VS. event at The Central in Santa Monica. Expect a night filled with good tunes, stiff drinks, and who knows, maybe even another appearance from Peter Dante like last week. Equip yourselves with party hats and party pants, this week is going to be a fun one.

Here’s a little podcast from the WAPA crew that features a part by GDD™’s Burn Unit.
A couple months ago, our buddy Bart B More came through Los Angeles for a few dates at Drai’s Hollywood, Dim Mak Studios, and the Yost Theater as a part of his fall tour through the US. GDD™ was able to team up with our good friends at Dim Mak for all three of these events, and it was an absolute blast. Accompanying Bart throughout this tour was his videographer, Mark Loonen, who has been putting together some outstanding videos featuring footage from Bart’s travels and appearances. This latest one from Mark is insightful and artistic; truly highlighting Bart’s stance on his music, his fans, and what this business is all about. We’re looking forward to welcoming Bart back to the West Coast this month as he’ll be playing CONTROL at the Avalon in Hollywood on the 25th.
Never fear Bay-area dirty dancers, Dim Mak has expanded to the streets of San Francisco with Obey The Kitty, a new Wednesday night event @ VESSEL. To kick off the Halloween week, Dim Mak is proud to present LA RIOTS to the decks, along with our very own BONES. This event will sell out so jump on getting your tickets now, and make sure to get there early!
If you were with us last Sunday when Breakbot opened for Chromeo @ Drais Hollywood, you knew RIGHT when he jumped on the decks after hearing him open his set with this classic disco jam. The original track was made in 1980 by 13 year old Stacy Lattisaw, and Breakbot simply beefs it up with that signature Ed Banger studio quality. Get your serious groove on with this one folks.
We’re looking forward to another Sunday here in Los Angeles. This weekend, Dim Mak will be hosting a DJ set by the groundbreaking Funky Electro duo, Chromeo, at the sexy Drai’s in Hollywood. Our own BONES will be warming up the dancefloor for a smashing good time, and on top of that, we’ll be celebrating the birthday of our good friend and Dim Mak workhorse, Bryan Linares.
Tickets are currently going for $20 and are selling fast, but the wonderful people at Drai’s have given us a special $15 discount code for the evening, so head on over to the ticketing website and type in ‘GDD’ as your promo code for the cheap tix! Looking forward to seeing you all out there!
Since we launched the remix competition last month for our good friend Clockwork‘s track, ‘Weaver,’ the stems were downloaded by hundreds and we received more submissions than we knew what to do with! But after a lot of listening and judging, Clockwork has determined his favorite three new takes on his original big room blaster, and we are stoked to announce them for you today.
The decision wasn’t easy, but the duo from Los Angeles known as No Body proved to have the best remix amongst all of the producers in the competition. The new rendition sticks to Clockwork’s original Big Room sound, but added some fresh new flavor that I just can’t wait to hear played out. As stated in the original competition announcement, the winning remix will be played out by Clockwork at this year’s Hard Halloween in Los Angeles, so congratulations Kevin and Ruben of No Body, you’ll be hearing it out on a proper system in a month and expect a GDD™ swag pack in the mail soon!
We’d also like to give a huge thanks to all of the remixers that submitted to this competition. If yours didn’t make it into the top 3 this time, don’t worry, we’ll be hosting plenty more competitions in the near future!
Clockwork will be releasing a new EP on Dim Mak this year called Squad Up and it’s already smashing crowds around the country. Check out this video below of Mr. Aoki dropping it at Identity Festival in San Diego a few weeks ago.
Following his successful remix for iSquare’s massive Hey Sexy Lady EP, LA’s own Whiiite (formerly DJ Mr. White) brings two more monsters to the table. The Atari Teenage Riot remix has just been released on Dim Mak records, and recent collaboration with bass brilliant Flinch made the cut for Skylar Grey’s Invisible EP (alongside huge remixes by Kaskade, Dirty South, John Dahlback, and Fred Falke). Check out the video preview and download links below, and grab our exclusive bootleg he made for Laidback Luke’s ‘Till Tonight.’
As always we’re back with another crazy Thursday, this time featuring one of LA’s finest party DJ’s, Thee Mike B. He’s held down various residencies for some of the coolest parties in Los Angeles, currently manning the decks at Dim Mak‘s Cannonball Sunday’s. We’re also stoked to host Benzona, one of the geniuses behind Mad Decent Records!
