GDD™ fav, Felix Cartal, will be releasing his sophomore album, Different Faces, on Dim Mak Records next Tuesday, March 27th, and today we are able to exclusively premiere the heaviest, rawest song from the LP, ‘Triple Deke.’ This track brings me back to the first thuds that I heard from FC back in 2007/2008 — the winding breakdowns and dancefloor smashing hooks are signature Felix Cartal. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“Possibly the heaviest track on the record, also the most effective on the dance floor. One of the few songs on the record that touches on my roots of making very aggressive, almost punk rock energy in dance music. I named it Triple Deke to allude to my past, a hockey reference, a big part of my life when I was younger, the same way this heavy music was important to me when I was younger as well.” Continue Reading
Joachim Garraud & Alesia‘s ‘Nox’ is the upcoming second single from their Hillside West EP due out on Dim Mak Records in April. The sound of ‘Nox’ is unlike anything Joachim has ever released before — tying in lighthearted piano riffs at the beginning of the track with monstrous, snarling Dubstep elements that pushed me back in my chair a bit. In coincidence with the release of ‘Nox’ on Beatport on April 24th, a remix competition has been announced with some epic prizes from Pioneer, Serato, WeSC, and more.

We’ve already seen some huge and long awaited releases drop this early in the year, but this EP is sure to take the taco. Our boy Clockwork is finally releasing his much anticipated Squad Up EP Tuesday, March 13th on Dim Mak Records – featuring the heavily supported ‘Squad Up,’ the techno darkside in ‘Hulk’ and the big room monster ‘Nox.’ If that wasn’t enough, the EP has also procured explosive remixes by Dillon Francis, Botnek, and Torro Torro, plus a special vocal edit of Squad Up. The self-titled tune is already receiving incredible support and is on target to be one of the top tunes of the year (not to mention a huge Beatport chart contender).

Today marks the exclusive Beatport release of the first single, ‘Hook,’ from Joachim Garraud & Alesia‘s new collaborative EP, Hillside West, due out on Dim Mak next month. Teaming up with the fresh new French trio, Alesia, has proven to be a great influence on this new single from Joachim. Utilizing his mastery of Electro and Techno, Joachim also developed new Progressive and Dubstep influences into Hillside West, and the anthemic synths married with grungy, almost Skrillex-esque womps deliver a side of Joachim’s production that has never been heard before. With support already in from Axwell, Bingo Players, Angger Dimas and more, I’m sure that we’ll be hearing this a fair amount during festival season. The Miami-based SonicC has jumped back on the burner, dropping two unreleased originals for his fans on soundcloud. After joining Dim Mak with the widespread glory for the infamous Stickin’, the young producer looks to strike back with his new original ‘Amnesia.’ A more progressive electro take for Sonic, this one is sure to get support from lovers of the mau5, Spencer & Hill, and Kaskade.
