Digitalism have shared a new track on their Soundcloud. The new track, Simply Dead is all power, complete with a memorable low-end that drives the track and hooks the listener. Make sure to keep your eyes on Digitalism; big things are coming.
Listen to the exclusive track after the jump!

It seems like the gaming industry is becoming more closely tied to the dance music industry with every new big release. It was first brought to my attention last year when the soundtrack to Mortal Kombat featured original productions from Felix Cartal, LA Riots, Harvard Bass, amongst others, and now the bridge has been built once more as SSX, the fierce snowboarding game set for release on EA Sports on February 28th, features a soundtrack full of dance and indie artists including Skrillex, Amon Tobin, Digitalism, and many more. The kind people over at EA have given us a copy of the game to give to one of you lucky readers!

FEEL GOOD HOUSE
• Noob – Spell (Original Mix) √+ [Beatport] *192 Kbps
This is an uplifting little number from the producer from Bordeaux known as Noob. Released in early October on the Sound Pellegrino label, the Spell EP has already gained some big time attention, including a spot on Digitalism’s I Love Techno Chart on Beatport.
JAARTRONICA
• Nicolas Jaar – Don’t Break My Love (Original Mix) √+
Just released this week on his own Clown & Sunset label, Nicolas Jaar‘s Don’t Break My Love EP is a pure auditory delight. Always unique sound from the 21 year old phenom.
CREEPY TECHNO
• Torb – Rubidrama (Original Mix) √+ [Beatport] *192 Kbps
French producer, Torb, put out Mars Premier as the latest release on Cassius Records, and all 3 tracks on the EP are fuego. Supported by Boys Noize, supported by GDD™.
PARTY IN THE MOONLIGHT HOUSE
• Fonzerelli – Moonlight Party (Tom Glass Remix) √+
I love this song. Brings back memories from a long time ago when we used to blast the original of this song in the dorms (FT) at UCSB. Great new take on it here from Tom Glass.
DOESN’T GET MUCH GROOVIER THAN THIS HOUSE
• Zombie Disco Squad – Piano Man (Original Mix) √++ [Beatport] *192 Kbps
Out on the Made To Play imprint last week, Zombie Disco Squad‘s ‘Piano Man’ is my new favorite single by the guys. Equipped with 4 different mixes of the original, this release is a must have. Buy the whole thang on Beatport now!
TRE’S PICKS
PSYCHEDELIC IDM
• FuzZ – Deep *320
FuzZ never has produced anything I didn’t love and Deep is no exception. Deep lures you in with a complex and long intro, only to drop you into a mellow, groovy and psychedelic wonderland that is similar to the best Flying Lotus beats. This track is not one to miss folks, click the link and grab the MP3 now!
FEEL GOOD TECH-HOUSE
• YO Bill – Teddy Jammin *320
YO Bill has been kind enough to give away this track exclusively on this weeks dirt! Teddy Jammin is as technical as it is catchy, which can only be a good thing. The track’s groovy vocals have been mixed in with YO Bill’s recognizably intricate percussion to bring you a guaranteed dance floor hit!
JAW DROPPING TECH-HOUSE
• Colour – Frequencies Modulate *320
Many of the die-hard Tech fans have been watching Colour with amazement, it seems the English producer really can do no wrong. Don’t believe me? Grab Frequencies Modulate, take a listen and you can send me your apology later. The track takes you on a dark journey that resonates retro-house chords, complex percussion and intricate synthesis. Seriously, grab this jam!
MELODIC ELECTRO
• THIEVES – Pousser *320
The up and coming Los Angeles natives, THIEVES always impress me and Pousser is no exception. It’s an original groove that speaks to the duo’s rock roots.
LATE NIGHT LATIN GROOVES
• Desantarosa – Cuando La Noche Es Buena *320
Speaking of up and comers, can you believe this kid is only 15!? Keep an eye on Desantarosa, I predict big things!

My favorite conspiracy theory might be that our generation of 80s-early 90s babies was conditioned for this wave of electronic music we’re currently experiencing from a very early age… by Nintendo. Peanut butter and jelly, furry boots and tutus, video games and techno… some things just inherently go together.
Electronic Arts, one of the preeminent video game publishers in the world, has intelligently enlisted the help of some of today’s mega-producers in the world of electronic music to help out with the promotion of one of their pending game releases, Syndicate. With Skrillex’s effort already available for download as of a month ago, the Digitalism remix was just released earlier today. Here’s what ze Germans hav to zay:
“For us as electronic music lovers who grew up with games and love soundtracks, there was no way around re-interpreting the Syndicate theme! So what we did in our WWII bunker studio was imagine being in the game, creating a fast-paced atmosphere, turning all the compressors up and mixing classic soundtrack elements with techno. We wanted to make sure it sounds dangerous – et voila, here we go.” – Digitalism
All you have to do is head over to the Syndicate Facebook page, ‘Like’ it, and then click on the “Syndicate DJ Download” tab and you can get both tunes right now, FO’ FREE. Stay in touch with that page, as there will be even more remixes in the coming months from some more of today’s biggest names in dance.
P.S. Check Digitalism’s North American Tour dates on their Facebook and see when they’re coming to a city near you!

Our buddy, Dillon Francis, has come quite a long way since when we first met him. He’s one of the top Moombahton producers out there now, and working directly for the Mad Decent boss man, Diplo, doesn’t hurt either. Any time we get a chance for Dillon to play our events in LA we jump on it, as it’s always a lot more fun to get rowdy with the lads, which is why we’ve teamed up with Juscollege.com and DANCEiSM to bring Mr. Francis to the Key Club in Hollywood this Thursday!

This weekend, HARD Summer Music Festival invades LA Historic Park for its second year, coming off a success of 2010 with an even bigger lineup and longer schedule! SET TIMES have just been released, so check out the full block below, or head over to the Hardfest site to create your own custom schedule!
TAKE THE MTA (METRO):
HARD Events has reached an arrangement with the MTA to keep the Gold Line and the Red Line open after HARD SUMMER’s curfew. Trust us — use the Metro; it drops you 100 feet from the event entrance. It will be your best form of transportation to and from the event. Many lots at the Metro stops are free, so park along the Gold or Red and take the MTA to the festival to avoid traffic and parking fees. Zip along the Gold Line from as far as Pasadena and East LA. From the Valley and Hollywood, take the Red Line to Union Station and hop on the Gold Line to Chinatown Station.
HARD SUMMER MIXTAPE:
THis years Hard Summer mix has been created by Digitalism (playing the entire Hard Summer Tour), so grab their techno rollercoaster below!
