It’s not every day where you come across a monstrous deep house track like this one. Danny Daze‘s “Zone” is the first of ten exclusive tracks that have been specifically commissioned for the Future Classic DJs compilation. It is looking to be a quality release with such a strong beginning. Enjoy the huge late-night floor filler while we wait anxiously for the next preview of the compilation.

Earlier this week, Future Classic released a remix package for Flight Facilities new single, “With You ft. Grovesnor.” With lyrics from Hot Chip‘s drummer Grovesnor, “With You” perfectly places a story of distraught love against a lighthearted, pop electronic backdrop. Flight Facilities commissioned remixes from two of my favorite producers, who each add a deeper and more complex sound to the track. Danny Daze makes the track perfect for those after hours sets, while David August turns it into the perfect companion for deep contemplation on a long drive home.
Check out remixes from David August and Danny Daze after the jump!
NYC’s Plant Music imprint will be releasing the first edition of their new Love Me compilation on April 24th — curated by the Plant Music label heads Dominique Keegan and Stretch Armstrong. The 13-track release features the sexier side of Plant, with remixes and originals coming from Danny Daze, Grandtheft, DJ Mehdi, and more. Preview most of the release below. √+ Continue Reading
If your newest remix appears on the latest mixtapes from The Magician AND Aeroplane, then by golly, you must be doing something right. Maxxi Soundsystem’s remix of “Shopping Cart” by Parallel Dance Ensemble is doing double duty this month on both The Magician’s Magic Tape Nineteen and Aeroplane’s January 2012 Mix (if it’s any consolation, Danny Daze beat them both when he dropped this track on this guest mix back in November). This deep groover is getting some heavyweight love and deservedly so. Take a listen and feel that bassline ooze through your veins and pulsate throughout your entire body and you’ll know understand why guys like The Magician, Aeroplane and Danny Daze want you to hear this track.
Out now on Permanent Vacation.
“Real thugs play house music” is the motto tied to the Philadelphia born and raised Dances With White Girls and it’s for good reason. You may be familiar with the man behind the unmistakeable name from his past affiliation with The Rapture, their then Throne of Blood label, and for his most recent co-production with Mattie Safer (formerly of The Rapture) on “Is That Your Girl?”. Regardless, you should known that he just came out with his boldly named after-hours track “It’s About the House,” along with a plethora of great remixes. Check out the full release and take our bonus exclusive download of the Codes remix!
• Dances With White Girls – It’s About The House (Codes Remix) (direct download)
So we took last week off of The Dirt and we sincerely apologize for it, but what better way to come back this week than with a mouthwatering, user-submitted buttshot and a terrific 11-pack of tunes to get you ready for the weekend! As usual, we have a bit of everything in here, so either take our word for it and download everything via the zip files, or pick and choose which ones sound good to you. Happy Dirt day people.
JACKIN’ TECH HOUSE
• Riva Starr, Major Lazer – Jump (The Martin Brothers Remix) √+ [Beatport]
Out last month on the Snatch! subsidiary label, Snatch! Special, this remix of Jump by Christian and Justin blends the familiar sounds of Snatch! and DirtyBird and is deservedly the first track on the compilation release.
VOCAL INDIE NU DISCO
• Metronomy – Everything Goes My Way (Ewan Pearson Remix) √+ [Beatport]
I first heard this remix on Danny Daze‘s guest mix for Nic Fanciulli‘s Worldwide Sounds podcast. I love the original from Metronomy and Ewan Pearson sticks to the main elements while incorporating a great Nu Disco feel.
TECHNO + HOUSE
• Lazy Ants & Rob Threezy – Chi to Rome (Mike Mago Remix) √+
Set for release next Monday the 19th, the Chi to Rome EP from Lazy Ants and Rob Threezy incorporates some of my favorite genres: Acid House, Chicago House, and Techno. This remix from BMKLTSCH Records head honcho, Mike Mago, delivers a bit of a Chicago House vibe while incorporating the repetition of a solid Techno tune.
• Cut Copy – Sun God (Andrew Weatherall Remix) √+
Cut Copy received a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronica Album a couple weeks ago for their fantastic Zonoscope LP, and in celebration they’ve released this nearly 9-minute epic remix from the legendary Brit, Andrew Weatherall. It’s a must have.
• Traveler – Phantom (Original Mix) √+
I just posted on these guys earlier this week, but I felt like I needed to include this track in The Dirt this week because it’s been on such heavy rotation since I downloaded it on Monday. Keep a serious eye out for Traveler in 2012.
Gigamesh is heating up the Winter by bringing back the classic “Disco Inferno” with great taste and extra grooves. It’s just another gem to add to the quality Gigamesh catalog.
Uppermost displays his refined production skills with a harder hitting, Justice type sound in “Positive,” a track of off his latest release, Action.
DRUM ‘N’ BASS
This round of the Dirt calls for a tune from the always dependable Sigma. I find it necessary to have a little up-tempo energy and this easily gets the job done.
I’m sure you could relate on how good it feels to come across a great artist and my latest discovery is Glasgow’s Rustie. With a unique and distinct style, he’s definitely one to look out for, especially with support from BBC’s Annie Mac.
They’re known for their remixes, and it’s to no surprise that Adventure Club has put together a great arrangement of Metric’s “Collect Call.” Having the foundation of great vocals to work with facilitates the production process, but they certainly take it a step further.
Emancipator is one of my favorite producers to chill to and with his laidback, flowing vibe, there’s not much else I could ask for. If you don’t already “like” his Facebook, I suggest you do so as he gave this track out for free today after reaching 30,000 fans!

A few days ago we brought to your attention GDD homie Danny Daze‘s deeper than deep new tune ‘If This,’ which is currently sitting pretty at #27 on the Beatport Deep House chart. Last week, via The Dirt, myself and SNEEVS brought you a tasty James Blake edit by a little double-dose of vixen known as Blond:ish. What we’ve failed to do, until now, is point out that Blond:ish and Danny just released on the same compilation, Second Chances and New Romances, Vol. 3, on Noir Music. The 7-track compilation features solid efforts all around, and I can’t recommend enough just picking up the whole thing.
Hover over the artwork above to have a listen to the Blond:ish ft. Ted Alexander tune from the comp, which came out Monday, and then head over to Beatport and do yourself a favor and grab it in it’s entirety here on Beatport.
You can have a listen and download Blond:ish’s set, live at Burning Man from earlier this year. This is truly one the whole family can enjoy 😉

The suave and always dapper Brodinski announced this week the launch of his label Bromance, which is bursting out of the gates with a massive EP. Louisahhh, who was featured on Danny Daze’s summer stomping anthem ‘Your Everything‘, teams up with Brodinski on ‘Let The Beat Control Your Body’. The catchy hook has Brodi’s appearing to be the more dance-floor appropriate of the two track EP, since the second tune comes courtesy of Gesaffelstein with a villainous techno beast that we’ve come to expect of the Parisian. Bromance #1 will be available digitally on November 21st.
