With the word ‘massive’ being used quite frivolously these days (guilty), there are some high expectations for an eponymous EP release. Yesterday, Italian Electro dons, Crookers, released the remixes for the Massive EP out on Potty Mouth Records, and we give two massive thumbs up. With 3 originals from Phra and Bot and 4 remixes from TJR & Anthony Wolf, Magik Johnson, Santiago & Bushido, and Mightyfools, this is a must-grab release from the Los Angeles label. Pick it up on Beatport now and enjoy this remix of ‘Massive’ from our pal TJR and newcomer Anthony Wolf.
Carli is an immensely talented, constantly genre defying and very charming dj/producer from Sweden. We’ve gotten to know him as one half of Staygold, Savage Skulls and Marcus Price & Carli. We’ve seen him occupy dj booths in Miami, London and Stockholm. We’ve heard him produce everything from filthy grime to saccharine disco. We’ve had the pleasure of tagging along on a musical journey that sways back and forth between dodgy warehouses in Västberga and glittery super clubs on Ibiza; from aggressive beats for the street to dreamy pop productions for la-la-land. Carli comes equipped with an effortless eclecticism that only the most talented can pull of, matched with a tempo that demands unconditional love for music combined with less than zero interest in nostalgia.
Our good friends Botnek were kind enough to send over a preview of their newest remix they did of the Crooker’s track “Hummus” that came out today on Mad Decent/ Southern Fried records. Let me tell you one thing, this remix is huge. I highly suggest you check it out. It really shows how talented this up and coming production duo is.
Do not forget to check out the rest of the remixes from the EP over on beatport

I remember when Blatta & Inesha came on to the scene back in 2009. They were dubbed by many at the time as the “next Crookers,” due to their banging Electro style and the fact that they are a duo from Italy. Since then, they’ve had releases on some of the heaviest hitting Electro labels in the game including Dim Mak, Lektroluv, Crux, and Lee Mortimer’s Wearhouse label. Well, Los Angeles, we are bringing the guys to you this week for a massive VS. event on the West Side along with support from DJ Shae B, Ben Oprstu, La Muerte, and Mr. Metronomo.
The event is FREE before 11PM, but you must RSVP at DANCEiSM.com.
LOCATION: The Central: Social Aide & Pleasure Club
1348 14th Street Santa Monica, CA 90404 ► Thursday, July 14th ► 9:30pm-2:00am ► 21+ ► $5 Red Bull Vodkas
Check out two of these massive new Techno tracks from Blatta & Inesha to get you going…
With the help of our friends at PIE ARTISTS Management, we were able to chat with Nima Tahmasebi (aka NT89) about the release and his climbing presence in the electronic music scene. On top of that, we have an exclsuive mix for you from him as well! So check out the tracks below, read the interview and grab the mix! What a day!
Pay attention kiddos, big tunes ahead! In this week’s edition of “The Dirt,” we are proud to present the incredibly talented, Linus Eklow, aka Style of Eye. The Stockholm native is known for his eclectic sound, which stylistically utilizes a fresh blend of techno, house and a healthy dose of raw, grinding electro. He has had a considerable amount of success with releases on Dirtybird Records, whom you’ll recall from the from Claude VonStroke/Justin Martin CONTROL at Avalon last Friday. With support from some of dance music’s biggest names (John Dahlback, Tiga, and Swedish House Mafia to name a few), Style Of Eye is on track to fulfilling DJ Mag’s prediction of becoming an “Important Future Star.” We predict he will continually blow us away with innovative productions, pumping DJ sets and generally just being a really cool guy. Most of these are unreleased or brand new so read more for streams of his top tracks with my commentary after the jump…
Everybody’s favorite Italian fidget maestros the Crookers have made a special 320 giveaway for the public, remixing Munchi‘s ‘Shottas’ featuring Mr. Lexx. Although it’s something to be excited about, the reason is somewhat tragic… Munchi had a seizure caused by an intracerebral hemorrhage, with no prior condition. He spent 9 hours in a coma and 11 days in the hospital recovering. He has no medical insurance in the US. His medication is expensive and he needs to get back to Rotterdam. Our goal is to pay for his ticket home, get our Hawaiian friends reimbursed for his meds and eventually pay for his hospital bills.
Here’s what the Crooks’ had to say about their track:
“Here’s a new remix we did for our friend Munchi, we loved his attitude towards music when we met him at a festival, so we did our own version of his killer track Shottas featuring Mr Lexx. Now, it’s here for you, free download!”

***Okay, so we have discovered that these guys actually are from San Bernadino, and the name is spelledThe Gooniees(with a double e) due to copyright violations with everyones favorite movie. Fans of Harvard Bass, Crookers, and Kid Kaio need to jump on these quick – they deliver superb ghettotech with dirty hip hop vocal sampling in all the right instances. Don’t stop get ‘em get ‘em.
