After setting the internet ablaze last week with his New Slaves Routine, Craze is back with a new track called ‘Bow Down’ that features the Dade County legend, Trick Daddy. While his talent on the decks is indisputable, his foray into the production world is now well solidified with this tune. There’s a palpable level of anger in both the routine and track, and it’s clear that the DMC champion is making strides to educate a generation of dance music fans that there’s more to DJing than just pressing a button and dancing around stage like an idiot. Look for this track to drop soon on his label, Slow Roast Records.

massiv tour

Our friends at LED, Topshelf, AM Only, SMOG, and Massiv are putting on a 3-date mini-tour of Southern California in a couple of weeks, with Los Angeles residents 12th Planet, AC Slater and Clicks&Whistles providing the bass-heavy tunage in Pomona, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Massiv has promised special guests for the tour, and today, they’ve announced that DMC champ, DJ Craze, will be joining the boys for the show at the Fonda Theater December 1st. To celebrate the announcement, Craze has put together a killer mix that has gotten us genuinely excited for the show, with everything from Barrington Levy to Sub Focus getting thrown in the mix. Make sure to get tickets to these shows (Pomona, LA, SD) before they sell out, and have a listen to the wonders of Craze below.

We were lucky enough to get back to our roots with Brooklyn-based producer Codes. Cody Murray, aka Codes, is ” reaching back to those golden days of hip-hop and house music. The days where you might sit in a record shop for hours searching for that diamond in the rough. Codes sound is a little disco, a little house, a helping of bass and a lot of love.” Recently signed to dance music heavy weights Craze and Kill the Noise’s Slow Roast label, Codes released his EP Codes House which became an instant hit with track after track finding its way into every dj’s set list. We were able to procure an exclusive interview with the man himself (via GDD street team member Britney Haberl), and also present a GDD premiere remix for Jay-Z & Kanye West’s “Ni**as In Paris” – which was recently featured on Craze’s U-Stream a week ago.

Not only is Miami-based DJ Craze a master of turntablism (he’s the only solo DJ to win 3 consecutive DMC Championships), but he has the producer and labelhead roles down as well. He’s teamed up with Kill The Noise in the past couple years to launch the rapidly growing label, Slow Roast Records, where artists such as Codes, Klever, Señor Stereo, and, of course, the labelheads have released top notch EPs. Most recently, Craze released his latest EP, Dance Alone, on August 30th, and he put together a rockin’ promo mix and music video to go along with it. Grab the mix as well as Codes’ remix and head over to Beatport to pick up the entire EP.

Over the next few days, we’ll be posting all the vital information to the events that we’ll be throwing in Miami next week for Miami Music Week. Once again, we’ve teamed up with OVERTHROW for the official unofficial closing party of Ultra 2011. And yes, it’s at a full nude stripclub called Gold Rush. And yes, Miami badman and multiple DMC champ Craze, along with ATL trenchstep dude Heroes x Villains, along with a bunch of other DJs including GDD’s own BONES and myself will be playing everything from Juvenile to Joker. Pre-sale tix are $10 and you must be 21 to see the tata’s. Infamous photographer Bronques of lastnightsparty.com will be capturing the debauchery, so if you drink too much and forget what the stripper who gave you a lap-dance looked like, we’ll have documentation.

I’ll leave you with a good idea of what will be happening as featured in Caligula‘s music video for their track ‘Light in the Dark’ off their EP titled ‘The Rise

Oh, and there’s probably gonna be some Moombahton in there too.

Troy Kurtz & Damaged Goods – Cabo Fuego (Original Mix) by Troy Kurtz

Full nudity. Check. 24 Hours. Check. Booty shakin’ bass. Check. If you’re making the trek to Miami for WMC next week, and have managed to survive come Sunday, then it would be in your best interest to grab a handful of singles and groove on over to GOLDRUSH on March 28. We’re teaming up with the bad boys of OVERTHROW, and headlining the event will be Miami’s heaviest hitter Craze and fellow Slow Roast Recs member Kill The Noise, as well as GDD DJ’s ///BONES and yours truly. Pre-sale tickets are $25, so email events@theoverthrow.com to get your fine self sorted.
