That’s right, the Waves ≠ Raves compilation is back. Grab a cocktail with Poseidon and let these tropical and smooth selections warm your soul.

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”

Hometown héros & feel good kings, Cosmic Kids, have released a new mix tape perfect for sunnydaze. It reminds me of sun-drenched rides up PCH with the top down. Expect low BPM, smooth & sweet jams, that will take you to your special place. Daniel of CK told me earlier today the idea behind the mix was to make something for the drive down to Coachella, and we must oblige.

Another great name making their prominence known early this year have been Jokers Of The Scene. The Canadian duo just last week released a techno shaped 5-track EP on Fool’s Gold Records called J0T5, with a seasoned RMXD EP on deck. Over the weekend we were able to sit down (on the internetz) with the Jokers to hear a little more about the EP and what else is new. So give it a read! You might just learn a thing er 2… Oh did I mention the exclusive remix they wanted to give the GDD readers just because they love you that much? SCORE.

It’s about time that NYC-based Holy Ghost! got to headline their own tour. Snoballing off of my new ‘Tropicool’ alter ego and the success that has been attributed to the new set chocked full of steel drums, ocean and breeze samples, synth, cowbells and keys, I have a very special treat for you.  I’ve been digging deep into the genre and the archives surfacing with many goodies hidden in both my sleeves and trunks.  Within the next week, there will be 2 more installments of Waves ≠ Raves inspired by the tropicool beginning of summer sun-kissed weather.  Also to top things off, our friends The Ampal Creative who we put this collab on with are releasing the Summer line of Aloha hats, that for the lack of better words, are the Frothiest lids from here to Bali.
