If you guys have been keeping up on the sexy sounds of Scottish mood-maker, GRUM, for the past couple months, you would know about his highly acclaimed album, Heartbeats, that was released on Ultra and d:vision Records earlier this summer. Each track on the album is a winner, and after doing our show with GRUM along with The Twelves in the Spring, I vowed to never miss a set of his in LA. Alongside the Scot will be the Brazilian electro duo, Felguk, as well as a bangin’ set from DJ Neoteric.

British breakbeat boys, Freestylers, have been kickin’ down doors since the mid-90′s with their creative collaborations and Prodigy-like sound, and this Friday they will be breakbeatin’ the bejesus out of the main room at the Avalon in Hollywood. Support will be provided by Simma Records frontman Will Bailey as well as GDD™ friendlies Breakdown and Mr. White. Come show us your best shuffle.
BLAU! Hope all of you kids had a good time this weekend out at EDC I know that much of the GDD crew did. Los Angeles! The Electric Daisy Carnival is 2 days away and I’m sure you are all as stoked as I am. I hope you’ve all put together your best tight n’ bright outfits and stocked up on lazers and glowsticks because this Friday and Saturday are going to be big ones. You might think that CONTROL would take a night off on this magnificent Friday, but then you would be incorrect. This week CONTROL will be going super late night with Villains headlining supported by ///BONES, Brazzabelle, Mr. White, and Hi-Deaf. So after you walk out of the Coliseum at 2am with ringing in your ears and rave muck on your shoes, hop in a cab and cruise over to the Avalon to keep the music going. Set times will be as follows:
+9:30-11:45 Hi-Deaf
+11:45-1:00 Brazzabelle
+1:00-2:00 Mr. White
+2:00-3:30 Villains
+3:30-??? ///BONES (let’s do it biggggg all you late night weirdos!)
So this is one of the shows that I’ve been looking forward to the most this month as this will be the first time seeing either of the headliners. I remember when I heard my roommate play Starkillers‘ dancefloor smasher ‘Bitch Ass Trick’ for the first time last summer, and ever since then I’ve been destined to see this guy play out. On top of that, we have the Dutch duo Bingo Players coming to drop some serious housey sound Friday night in Hollywood.

There is a special benefit at the Avalon this Friday to prevent deforestation in the Amazon jungle in South America, and who else would be better to throw down for saving some trees than the legendary PAUL OAKENFOLD? For those of you that just started listening to electronic music yesterday, Paul has been a visionary for the scene for over 20 years and continues to blast people away with his hair-raising, skin-tingling sets from Vegas to Ibiza every year. I commend the people of the Amazon Foundation for their efforts and helping put all of this together, so please come out and support because all proceeds from the night will be donated to purchasing land that is in danger of deforestation and will be given to local native tribes for preservation.

Sorry for the late post this week guys. I randomly decided to go to Vegas on Tuesday night after having a stiff Crown & Coke in Santa Barbara with some friends, and got back late last night with a sore throat and questionable morals. Anyways, I’m back in party-mode already and this Friday the Avalon welcomes Le Castle Vania, Computer Club, and Paparazzi to the main stage. We would also like to congratulate our good friend Ed Gold for making it to the main stage this week, who will be throwing down some goodies for all you kiddos late night.
