dirtybird takes CONTROL this Friday at the Avalon!

Happy almost Halloween! It’s that time of year when girls dress with less, guys try to come up with some type of clever yet relevant costume, and ‘candy’ takes on a far different meaning than when you were munchin’ those Reese’s at 10pm after a serious trick or treating session in the 3rd grade.

Well dirty dancers, let me tell you that this Friday will be like no other CONTROL event that you have ever been to. The San Franciscan label known as dirtybird will be doing a full takeover of the mainstage at the Avalon in Hollywood with long, techy sets by label boss Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, and J.Phlip.

Hope you all are ready for this week. Let me advise you on how your Friday night should go…

8:00pm – Head on over to the Avalon early for The Most Interesting Party in the World sponsored by Dos Equis and hosted by Andrew WK, dF, Danceism, and GDD™.
Make sure you’ve printed out your tickets before you come!
8:30-11pm – Get on a great one with the OPEN BAR and watch some crazy illusionists, special guest DJs, burlesque dancers, flying and magic in the main room.
11-1:00am – Let Circuit Freq do some damage to your hearing.
1-2:30am – Enjoy the privilege of witnessing French House legend Etienne De Crecy throw metaphorical musical fireballs at your brain.
2:30am-close – Keep that good one going with James Talk until your legs are noodles.

GDD™ Presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ Drop The Lime + AutoErotique + SonicC

What a fitting party to coincide with the temperature of Southern California this week! This Friday at the Avalon, T&B posterboy Drop The Lime will be making a stop on his “HOT AS HELL” tour, which is promoting Luca’s new track being released this November on Trouble & Bass. Accompanying the heat will be two of Dim Mak‘s finest: the hard-hitting Toronto tag team known as AutoErotique and the young gun who has been stickin’ it for the past year, SonicC. Prepare to experience some serious perspiration, and leave your cleanliness at home because this week is going to be a dirty one.

GDD™ Presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ Annie Mac + Riva Starr + Doorly!

Isn’t there a saying that the best things come in 3′s? Either way, another huge CONTROL tripleheader is being held this Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood, with the return of the lovely Annie Mac, as well as performances by two artists who have both already had an absolutely smashing 2010; the unpredictable Englishman, Doorly, and the mysterious and intriguing man from Naples, Riva Starr. Expect to hear an eclectic mix of the world’s best dance music, including more than a few tunes that you probably have never heard before. Also, make sure to stop by the GDD™ House Party room, located to the right of the main stage in between the stage and the smoking alley. We’ll be having some fun in there as well.

GDD™ Presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ Major Lazer + Peace Treaty + Them Jeans + Mr. White + ///BONES!

I know you guys have all been waiting for this one. The Jamaican zombie killer personified by dance music giants Diplo & Switch will be zapping all y’all with some dancehall/electro lazerbeams this Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood, and I can safely say this will be even crazier than the Wolfgang Gartner night we had a couple weeks back. Supporting Major Lazer will be some of LA’s finest including Peace Treaty, Them Jeans, Mr. White, and ///BONES.

Due to the extremely high demand for this show, unfortunately there will be no discount lists this week. You may purchase presale tickets HERE or wait in line Friday night for general admission tickets.
This is not a show to miss, so don’t sleep on getting tickets because this WILL SELL OUT.

GDD™ Presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ Donald Glaude + Deathface + Rifat Ziadeh!

Legendary DJ and prominent party-starter Donald Glaude will be making some noise at CONTROL this Friday at the Avalon in Hollywood. I actually saw Donald’s set at Playhouse earlier this summer with LA Riots, and let me tell you it was a loud one. I’d never heard a DJ use one before, but DG brought a truck horn along with him that shook the shit out of that club. I’m curious if he’ll have that in his arsenal on Friday. Supporting Donald’s headlining spot will be Trouble & Bass goth man Deathface, along with GDD™ buddy Rifat Ziadeh, Daniel L’Amour, and Steve Prior. Good times for all!

So how was everyone’s Friday last week? If any of you can say that you made it out of the Avalon without sweating through your shirt I just wouldn’t believe you. Last week recorded the largest capacity that any CONTROL or Avaland night has ever had, proving once again that there is no substitute for hard-hitting electronic music in the city of Los Angeles. We thank you all for making CONTROL what it is every week, and it really is all of you fans and enthusiasts that keep this shit going.

Clockwork – Airflow (Valerna Remix)

Here we have a GDD™ + Chemical Jump exclusive for you guys. Nate over at CJ and I were asked by the great people over at GreenElectronic to simultaneously release this monster out today, so we’re giving it to all of you fine folks. Valerna has been pumping out some serious bangarang lately with their multiple releases on Miles Dyson‘s Plasmapool Records, as well as getting a Felix Cartal touch-up to their latest track ‘Look Ma, No Pants!’ that went out on Beatport in July. Definitely make sure to catch these guys this Friday on the main stage at CONTROL along with Wolfgang Gartner, Harvard Bass, Skrillex, and ///BONES!

Oh Boy dirty dancers, do we have CONTROL Friday for you.

This week, we welcome two big room monsters that are backed by the incredible production they’ve quickly become known for. Undocumented Management’s Wolfgang Gartner and Harvard Bass. If that wasn’t enough to make you pass out, they will be supported by up-and-coming heavy hitters Valerna and Skrillex. And if that isn’t enough reason to go, I have been given the closing set for this carnival of a friday night, and I would love if you could make it just so you can see me bouncing off the walls in excitement. The flyer is enough for me to start jumpin right now.

GDD™ presents CONTROL at the Avalon w/ 12th Planet + NASA + Kingdom!

I was just thinking the other week, “I really hope that we can get another massive dubstep night going at CONTROL soon,” and fortunately my wish was granted as the don of LA dubstep, 12th Planet, will be headlining this Friday alongside a DJ set by NASA and a rare West Coast performance by Brooklyn producer Kingdom, who has just released a new EP on Night Slugs titled That Mystic. All you bassheads better be in attendance.
