Sometimes having too many collaborators on one track can backfire and result in (for lack of better terminology) a big fat turd. Conversely, these types of collaborations can also result in absolute gold. Such is the case on what is surely one of the best pop songs of 2010: “Somebody to Love Me” by Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. Written by Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Cathy Dennis & Anthony Rossomando (Dirty Pretty Things/Klaxons) and featuring vocals by dream duo Boy George and Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), “Somebody to Love Me” is pop perfection.

Now that everyone is finally recovering from Hard and this week has finally set into full speed I have some new tracks for all you kids to hear. Definitely a complete range of sounds for all of you out there. Going from some dubstep to disco to the classic electro banger sound to some fresh dutch house from one of the worlds top producers. Today’s post really has a little bit of it all.

DJ Sneak- Sourthern Girl (12th planet & Flinch Remix)
New remix off DJ Sneak’s new release by Scion. Another successful remix by this tag team remix team. Definitely highly recommended.

Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup- We No Speak Americano (High Rankin’s Bait Wobble Remix)
“Bored of a morning i decided to ask Twitter what i should do a cheeky bootleg of to give away for chuckles. Turns out they wanted a mix of No Speak Americano so i only went and bloody did one. Some people didnt quite get the joke but as i do so like to say, fuck um if they can’t take a joke. Here it is, enjoy :) straight from High Rankin’s twitter. Resulting remix actually is good. First and only dubstep mix I have heard of this song and I like it.

Congorock-Babylon (Fare Soldi – Babbylorso Remix)
*thanks to our friends @ Deathelectro
Nice disco twist to one of the biggest songs of the year. Fare Soldi is one of my favorite italian production duo’s out there. Definitely check out more of their stuff on their myspace if you have not already. Also deathelectro has an interview with them up now, go check that as well!

Aniki Ft. Whiskey Pete- Put On My Raving Kicks (Cold Blank Remix)
Another great remix from the LA based production duo Cold Blank. Check it out asap.

Dead Prez- Its Bigger Than Hip Hop (Sidney Samson Remix)
Last but not least a new track for all you dutch house fans out there. This one has all the classic feelings of a dutch house remix but at the same time goes heavier than most dutch house tunes ever dare.

Well check out these tunes and enjoy! Please support these artists further by going to beatport and checking out more their stuff!

What’s up dirty dancers?
After the success of his ‘I Remember’ remix last year, and also the inevitable carnage that Nero‘s trancey dubstep tunes strike up, it’s pretty unsurprising that Caspa‘s come back for a second summer dub anthem this time remixing Swedish House Mafia‘s One:
While you’re at it, scope this out too:
• Swedish House Mafia – One (Congorock remix) (link removed by request)
After blindly swearing never to listen to Congorock‘s Babylon again, I find myself listening to this gem, it sees the original slowed down and turned ever more Dutch.

Second up; citing their influences from both French and Chicago House scenes, Human Life have just dropped their ‘In It Together’ EP which is out on LIFEX. It’s already garnering the Angelenos a lot of attention, getting remixed by Kris Menace & Acid Girls, but the freshest picks for me come from two British acts:
Some essenttttial electro from Moda & Radio 1 residents
If you’re big into this French Filter track then stay tuned for Human Life’s collab with Alan Braxe which is set to drop later this year on Vulture

And lastly, Toddla T has been kicking up a lot of heat over the past few months since signing with Ninja Tune. Sky Surfin’ is a frantic journey of two-step electro and dancehall, making it ideal for the summer and impossible not to jam to:

If you dig this, then cruise through Beatport to pick it up in full 320
This is being given away for free by Ninja Tune. In commemoration of their twentieth anniversary, they’re giving away a track per week, visit NinjaTuneXX for more deets and if you’re London based be sure to pick up a pass for their celebration in October, the lineup is stacked.

Every Saturday for the past few months, the good folks at OVERTHROW and EMBRACE have teamed together with Whiteroom and brought in acts such as Rusko, AC Slater, D.I.M., Drop The Lime, Mixhell, Bassnectar, Klever, Deathface, and Craze. This week Congorock comes to our concrete jungle and will set off your eardrums with a labyrinth of tropical dance tunes. His newest single ‘Babylon’ is by far one of the best tracks I’ve heard all year and will be released on Fools Gold sometime soon. Mention OVERTHROW at the door this Saturday for reduced admission. Doors open at 11. (Like always, I’ll be playing before and after)
