Snoballing off of my new ‘Tropicool’ alter ego and the success that has been attributed to the new set chocked full of steel drums, ocean and breeze samples, synth, cowbells and keys, I have a very special treat for you.  I’ve been digging deep into the genre and the archives surfacing with many goodies hidden in both my sleeves and trunks.  Within the next week, there will be 2 more installments of Waves ≠ Raves inspired by the tropicool beginning of summer sun-kissed weather.  Also to top things off, our friends The Ampal Creative who we put this collab on with are releasing the Summer line of Aloha hats, that for the lack of better words, are the Frothiest lids from here to Bali.

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”

Sorry for the late post this week guys. I randomly decided to go to Vegas on Tuesday night after having a stiff Crown & Coke in Santa Barbara with some friends, and got back late last night with a sore throat and questionable morals. Anyways, I’m back in party-mode already and this Friday the Avalon welcomes Le Castle Vania, Computer Club, and Paparazzi to the main stage. We would also like to congratulate our good friend Ed Gold for making it to the main stage this week, who will be throwing down some goodies for all you kiddos late night.

Please RSVP at jonah@gottadancedirty.com to be on our reserve discount ticket list.
Pricing will be as follows:
21+: 10$ before 12am 15$ after (Enter through left side Honey Lounge entrance).
18+: 15$ before 12am 20$ after (Enter through main central entrance).

Check out this MONSTER mixtape LCV did back in April:

An oldie from LCV’s side project Lies In Disguise.

The Enemy, Knick, and Gigantor, or Evol Intent, have just created a nice dubstep reinterpretation of Miami’s own, Pitbull. The trio have said that they are “preparing new original material, working on some more remixes, plus readying a live tour for the USA this fall,” so definitely be sure to catch these guys when they are in your area in a couple months. For now check out this beast.

A sick little video for “Maybe We’ll Dance Tomorrow”

I have a feeling that many posts coming from the blogs of LA will be throwing around a lot of stuff about the Electric Daisy Carnival that just occurred here last weekend. Well, GDD is no different. The festival was absolutely amazing, and I give my full support and gratitude to all of those involved for putting it on. With that said, Mike from Computer Club (who had a killer set on Friday night) has sent us a couple tracks and a Spring/Summer mix for y’all to grab. He’ll be releasing a 5-track EP on So Sweet Records pretty soon, and also keep your eyes out for a few new remix collaborations with LCV and Frankmusik coming up. So get this mix, and grab the two tracks available for download within the listing.
