As if the energy of EDC weekend wasn’t enough, the LA-based hooligans behind No Shirt No Shoes have joined forces with GDD, Undefeated, Sol Republic, Hype Beast and Ampal Creative to bring you NS/NS: ¡VIVA FROTH VEGAS¡ @ The Hard Rock Pool. The pool party splashes into town on Friday with an All-Star lineup of favorites Bag Raiders (dj set), Classixx, Poolside (dj set), Bixel Boys, plus our very own Bones and Tropicool. Amidst the neon, fist pumping and testosterone, we are happy to bring you the frothy LA alternative to the Las Vegas pool party. See you guys there!

The makings of the answer to a ‘SoCal Outsidelands’, the Pacific Festival is putting together the perfect balance of summer music now in a proper location for all festival-goers. With a relocated festival site to Oak Canyon Ranch (recent location of Lightning In A Bottle) and a full day of music starting @ 10am, this year’s Pacific Fest is gonna show off the true summer festival atmosphere in its deserved setting. Waves ≠ Raves Vol. 8

Snoballing off of my new ‘Tropicool’ alter ego and the success that has been attributed to the new set chocked full of steel drums, ocean and breeze samples, synth, cowbells and keys, I have a very special treat for you.  I’ve been digging deep into the genre and the archives surfacing with many goodies hidden in both my sleeves and trunks.  Within the next week, there will be 2 more installments of Waves ≠ Raves inspired by the tropicool beginning of summer sun-kissed weather.  Also to top things off, our friends The Ampal Creative who we put this collab on with are releasing the Summer line of Aloha hats, that for the lack of better words, are the Frothiest lids from here to Bali.

Classixx – Into The Valley (YACHT Remix)

It’s been almost two years since Classixx remixed YACHT’s “Psychic City” (one of Classixx’s all-time uh…classic remixes).  And being the good buds that they are, YACHT are returning the favor in big fashion with their remix of Classixx’s “Into The Valley” (anchored by the soulful groove of Brooklyn’s Karl Dixon).  YACHT’s remix starts off like Stevie Wonder on a pill and continues to build into a disco rave stomper.  Classixx: consider the favor returned.

[Classixx do Madonna] + [Mustang does Duran Duran] + [Aeroplane does The Human League]

While Classixx are readying their next single, “Into the Valley” (due in early March), they’ve decided to throw this little nugget of retro gold out to the public.  It’s a dub edit of “Lucky Star” by Madonna that people have been going bonkers for during their recent DJ sets.

Sticking with retro artists being remixed by contemporary heavyweights, check out Mustang’s re-jiggle of “Wild Boys” by Duran Duran and Aeroplane’s remix of “Never Let Me Go” by The Human League.  “Never Let Me Go” is the second single off of The Human League’s new album, “Credo”, which is set for release on March 21st.

This week, we welcome two big room monsters that are backed by the incredible production they’ve quickly become known for. Undocumented Management’s Wolfgang Gartner and Harvard Bass. If that wasn’t enough to make you pass out, they will be supported by up-and-coming heavy hitters Valerna and Skrillex. And if that isn’t enough reason to go, I have been given the closing set for this carnival of a friday night, and I would love if you could make it just so you can see me bouncing off the walls in excitement.
