Last week, we were very excited to premiere the amazingly groovy Gigamesh remix of the brand new Punks Jump Up track featuring the sultry vocals of Dave 1 of Chromeo, and this week, we are pleased to share the colorful, animated music video of the original. Sexy, bright, and voluptuous is how I would describe this music video — the funky track blends perfectly with the neon illumination throughout the entire production. Pick up the Mr. Overtime EP with remixes from Mickey, Gigamesh, and Oliver out on Moda Music a week from today!  √+

Joe Attard & David Andersson AKA Punks Jump Up are out with a grooving new single that features the undeniably sexy vocals from Chromeo‘s Dave 1, who supposedly heard a demo from the PJU guys and felt an urge to throw some words on top of it. On April 30th, the EP package will be released on Moda Music and accompanied by 4 other mixes of the original. Stream the premiere of the Gigamesh remix and read on for the full EP tracklist and another little surprise from Oliver. √+

French DiscoWave producer, LIFELIKE, adds to his remarkable list of remixes with two brand new remixes of Chromeo & Australian brother/sister duo Voltaire TwinsLIFELIKE takes takes both of the original synth pop jams and adds his signature French touch, walking that smooth + sexy line between nu-disco & new wave.

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”

Foreword from Viceroy:
While the music market continues to grow into an ‘over saturation’ of electronic blogs, the majority of them seem to only know how to post those same absolute jams that their competition managed to post in previous features. That alone is not enough to make a blog stand out in my mind. I have been and always will be a huge fan of Gotta Dance Dirty. Why? They not only have the most up to date jams from the big dogs, but they support up and coming artists too. How many well-established blogs do that? I can’t name many. Supporting my summery beats since I started in February, Gotta Dance Dirty has given me the honor of hand selecting the tracks for Waves ≠ Raves Mixtape Vol. 14. Looking for some sun-kissed disco to cap off your summer fun? Look no further.

Enjoy, and stay frothy my friends.

I need to get me one of these shirts! Happy Monday GDD™ people! After one serious bender of a weekend, I am back to the grind and ready to give you all some great tunes to start the week off right. Check out this 5 pack of remixes from some of the top artists in the game right now.

Light Year – Marcellus (Malente Remix) √+
Our buddies from Oz are coming out with a HUGE remix release this Friday, July 15th on Bang Gang Records. The package features remixes from Harvard Bass, Strip Steve, Alex Gopher, The Finger Prince, and of course Malente. Give this groovin’ House track the volume it deserves and head over to the brand new Light Year website for more info.

Noah and the Whale – Life Is Life (Yuksek Remix) √+
So what it’s a Monday. Turn that frown upside-down after listening to this pick-me-up of a track. Smiles and sun all around.

Chromeo – When The Night Falls (Hercules And Love Affair Remix)
I posted the Breakbot remix of this track last week which had the standard Disco feel to it. This rendition from Hercules And Love Affair throws in a pretty catchy synth lead in the mix. Give it a go.

Little Dragon – Ritual Union (Tensnake Remix) [Beatport]
The Swedish band, Little Dragon, released the EP for ‘Ritual Union’ last week on Peacefrog Records, featuring touch-ups from Tensnake, Maya Jane Coles, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Tensnake turns the tempo down in this remix to create a really great track. Grab Little Dragon’s full length album on July 26th.

Azari & III – Manic [The Finger Prince 'Static Situation' remix] by PurplePR
Great new remix from Bang Gang rep, The Finger Prince. Can’t wait for this release.

Here are some tracks that I had been hoarding whilst I was waiting for GDD™ v3.0 to launch. Both Cut Copy and Chromeo will be playing at Coachella this year, which also makes it a perfect reason to post a remix of Death From Above 1979 (whose stealthy reunion is easily the most exciting news at Coachella this year).

Cut Copy – Take Me Over (Mylo Remix) by aRod@GottaDanceDirty™

Chromeo – Hot Mess (Djedjotronic Remix) by aRod@GottaDanceDirty™

Cut Copy – Take Me Over (Azari & III Remix) by aRod@GottaDanceDirty™
(This version of Azari & III’s remix is the proper one & not the whacked out, choppy one that was floating around the internets all week)

Chromeo – Hot Mess (Oliver Remix) by aRod@GottaDanceDirty™

And DFA 1979 for the big fat win:

Not much really needs to be said about a collaboration between Chromeo & Elly Jackson (La Roux) that gets remixed by Duck Sauce. It’s like being dealt Aces over Kings…the Full House pretty much speaks for itself.

Duck Sauce beef up the beat of the original and zone in on Jackson’s signature vocals to serve up the first monster jam of 2011.

Cheers to Green Label Sound for the free tunage!
