Last Saturday we returned once again to one of our favorite haunts, Webster Hall NYC. But this time it was a bit of a special occasion… aside from 4/20, A-Trak was back in town and Webster was kicking off the start of their new weekly Brite Nites party….and it was an insane night to say the least. Check out what went down after the jump!

Following up on the Night By Night’ remix we brought you by Wax Motif, we bring you another 2012 recreation of a Chromeo classic… Slow Roast Recs phenom Codes has brought the anthemic ‘Tenderoni’ back to life with a serious big room overhaul. Although you can’t beat the original, this is by far the best remix I’ve encountered (out of the masses we’ve heard over the years) with gritty leads and a bouncey bassline that brings back memories of the best of Crookers – circa 2009. The appeal stands refreshing too,  Codes remix shines light on the recent surge in big room popularity and the few that stand tall among the–  well, just god awful. This “Tenderoni 2012″ is a home run, and we’re proud to offer it up to you dirty dancers. Enjoy!

Chromeo‘s ‘Night By Night’ has become a classic in the funky duo’s large arsenal of originals. In the past couple of years, it’s been remixed by scores of producers — including Skream and Siriusmo who made the cut for the original remix EP in 2010. Now, our good mate from Sydney has put his touch on it, adding in a pair of excellent breakdowns which lead into a banging Electro/Techno revision. If you’re looking to add some Chromeo into a heavier set, this remix from Wax Motif is the one for you. Download after the jump! Continue Reading

Last week, we were very excited to premiere the amazingly groovy Gigamesh remix of the brand new Punks Jump Up track featuring the sultry vocals of Dave 1 of Chromeo, and this week, we are pleased to share the colorful, animated music video of the original. Sexy, bright, and voluptuous is how I would describe this music video — the funky track blends perfectly with the neon illumination throughout the entire production. Pick up the Mr. Overtime EP with remixes from Mickey, Gigamesh, and Oliver out on Moda Music a week from today!  √+

Joe Attard & David Andersson AKA Punks Jump Up are out with a grooving new single that features the undeniably sexy vocals from Chromeo‘s Dave 1, who supposedly heard a demo from the PJU guys and felt an urge to throw some words on top of it. On April 30th, the EP package will be released on Moda Music and accompanied by 4 other mixes of the original. Stream the premiere of the Gigamesh remix and read on for the full EP tracklist and another little surprise from Oliver. √+

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”

Foreword from Viceroy:
While the music market continues to grow into an ‘over saturation’ of electronic blogs, the majority of them seem to only know how to post those same absolute jams that their competition managed to post in previous features. That alone is not enough to make a blog stand out in my mind. I have been and always will be a huge fan of Gotta Dance Dirty. Why? They not only have the most up to date jams from the big dogs, but they support up and coming artists too. How many well-established blogs do that? I can’t name many. Supporting my summery beats since I started in February, Gotta Dance Dirty has given me the honor of hand selecting the tracks for Waves ≠ Raves Mixtape Vol. 14. Looking for some sun-kissed disco to cap off your summer fun? Look no further.

Enjoy, and stay frothy my friends.
