Whether you went to a festival or not over Memorial Day Weekend, chances are you’re probably starting to get the itch to get back on the dance floor. This Saturday, Sound Nightclub will be welcoming the French Express/Ministry of Sound affiliate, Chris Malinchak, RIS Labs’ Eric Sharp, and our DJ duo, The Interns, for a groove-fueled soirée in the heart of Hollywood.
For those unfamiliar, Chris Malinchak is best known for his blissful deep house anthem, “So Good To Me,” but he’s also gone on to release a grip of other well-received jams like “Happiness” featuring MNEK, which has surpassed the 1 million play mark on SoundCloud. On closing duties, LA local Eric Sharp has been building his profile as both a producer and label head with sophisticated house music taste, while also playing everywhere from Outside Lands to ADE, so be sure to stick around for his set. Lastly, The Interns, who you may know from their eclectic sets at Coachella, Holy Ship!, EDC Las Vegas, or WAVEY, will be warming things up with the feel-good vibes that they have built their name off of.
Get ready for the night with the music below, and grab a ticket here.

In the world of blogging, time is measured in a much more restlessly eager way than the normal units of time we are accustomed to. In the regular world, when a person uses the phrase “at long last” or “it’s been ages”, years are usually associated with these terms. However, in the world of music blogs, a few short months of inactivity is equivalent to real life years of agony and despair. This can be chalked up to our insatiable appetites for new music. It’s that simple. The music lover always wants more & always wants it now.
Today, after TEN WHOLE MONTHS without releasing any new material, Chris Malinchak dropped a new track on us & an overwhelming sense of joy (and relief) filled my social media feeds. At long last, the amazing Mr. Malinchak released a new track today entitled “So Into You”. After releasing a string of timeless songs last year (“So Good to Me”, “If U Got It” & “These Dreams”), Chris Malinchak’s reputation as a young House music legend was solidified in the annals the blog world. And today his fans rejoice.
“So Into You” may not have the anthemic house feel of his more recent releases but this deep, liquid funk track (harking back to the funkier sounds of his “Hollywood” EP) surely does not disappoint. It’s another beauty & another freebie.
So with all of that, we say thank you, Chris…we’re so into you, too.
So Good To Me was easily considered one of the top tracks of 2012 and a prominent force that brought Chris Malinchak new fans across the globe. Since its first release back in October (official release was May 5th), not many producers have attempted to reconstruct this classic into their own. This notion changed though when the UK up-and-comer, Ejeca, dropped his free remix earlier this week. His version reworks the original vocals into a chopped up, jackin house club remix. Don’t sleep on this one or any tunes from Ejeca!
It’s been a journey. Since its inception in the summer of 2010, our longest lasting weekly feature, The Dirt, has brought a staggering amount of free music to the masses, and we’re proud to still be here 100 editions and 100 Dirt Babes in the books. It’s a tough feat to get these tracks together each week (probably why we have some gaps in the mix here and there, apologies), but it’s been an amazing experience sharing music with all of you, which, of course, is the main reason why we’re here.
We wanted to put together something special for the centennial episode, so 11 of our writers have included 2 songs each — one from one of the 99 past Dirts that we’ve posted and any other song that we felt was exceptional enough to make the cut of such an outstanding post. We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed putting them together. Here’s to another 100. Continue Reading
Anyone who visits GDD™ frequently knows that we are huge fans of FRΞNCH ΞXPRΞSS’ Chris Malinchak. On my Malinchak Appreciation Post a few months back, I referred to him as my 2012 House Music MVP. FRΞNCH ΞXPRΞSS and Mr. Malinchak are back at it with more dazzling freebies. First up is the track “Leaving Tomorrow”, which was released ever-so-kindly as a free download last week via FRΞNCH ΞXPRΞSS. “Leaving Tomorrow” is a celestial medley of Commodores-sampled vocals chopped up and seasoned over Malinchak’s soulful beats.
The second freebie in the last eight days from Malinchak is the track “Get Back”. There’s no need to try and classify this song into any subgenre. Simply put, THIS IS DANCE MUSIC. “For you homeboys that think you all that, and tryin to get with this” – GET BACK.
Our favorite coconut water, Vitacoco, and Sultan of Summertime, Viceroy, have teamed up to bring you the Vita Tapes. A special mixtape series to keep you dancing all year long with a tropo state of mind while you stay fully hydrated!

Being prolific does not always translate into delivering top quality work. Such is not the case with Chris Malinchak. So many words can be used when describing the Chris Malinchak experience. Underground. Hypnotic. Haunting. Deep. Diverse. Driven. Prolific. But one word truly encapsulates what is currently happening with this FRΞNCH ΞXPRΞSS house music legend in the making: UNSTOPPABLE. So far in 2012, Mr. Malinchak has delivered two EPs + five singles. All different from one another. All brilliant. I could go on and on but I’ll leave my Malinchak Appreciation Post with this: Chris Malinchak – 2012 House Music MVP.
